'''7163 Republic Gunship''' is a [[LEGO]] [[Star Wars]] themed set released [[2002]]. It contains a Republic Gunship based on it's appearance in Star Wars Episode II. This set was released as part of the [[:Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones|Episode II subtheme]] Star Wars. It consisted of 686 pieces, cost $89.99 USD, and included four [[Clone Trooper]] (Phase I armor), two [[Super Battle Droid]] (light blue), a [[Droideka]] (Version I), and a [[Jedi Knight]] (sometimes known as Jedi Bob) [[minifigure]]s. An improved version of this set, [[7676 Republic Attack Gunship]] has been released in [[2009]] as part of the [[Star Wars: The Clone Wars|''Clone Wars'']] subtheme, Except the Gunship did not have the transparent guns on the side since those were ommitted in the Clone Wars movie.

== Description ==
The top part of the ship is capable of detaching from the bottom. The front can also open up to reveal an on-site hospital/recovery center. Other notable features are the two adjustable pod-turrets on either side, gun rack and opening side doors.

This set includes 2 Super Battle Droids, 1 Destroyer Droid, 4 Clone Troopers and 1 Jedi Knight (sometimes known as Jedi Bob). This set has been well received not only for its design, but for its rare minifigures. The only way to get the highly wanted Blue Super Battle droids and the Jedi minifigures included in this set, is to buy it. Also, this set and the [[4482 AT-TE]] are the only sets that you can get the original [[Clone Trooper|Episode II Clone Troopers]].

== Background ==
First seen in Episode II: Attack Of The Clones, this vehicle blazed in and saved the Jedi from certain death by the hands of the droid armies commanded by the evil Sith Lord [[Count Dooku]]. This mighty vehicle continued in the T.V Animated Series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith as a transport for both troops and Jedi to battle.
