Brickipedia:Requests for Adminship
|
Requests: Chat Moderator - Administrator - Bureaucrat - Patroller |
This is Brickipedia's requests for adminship page, on which any user may request administrator rights. Administrators have many technical abilities that are used for the maintenance and upkeep of Brickipedia, and a full list of all of the user rights that they have access to can be found at Special:ListGroupRights.
While being an administrator may seem "fun" or "cool", you should consider whether or not you actually have a use for sysop rights before filing a request. Administrators should be active users on Brickipedia with a few thousand contributions who have a good understanding of policies and community discussions here. While being an administrator is not a big deal, it is a significant time commitment, and takes a lot of work. If you are considering nominating yourself for adminship, please read through the checklist to make sure that you meet the criteria.
To file a request, place the following code under the "current requests" header, above any existing requests.
There is an archive here for adminship requests.

Requests made on this page are a vote, meaning that if they achieve at least 80% support then they will be closed as successful. Opposers must provide reasons for opposing. All request will last a minimum of two weeks.
If a user has been nominated for adminship before, add 2 to the end of the topic header. For users with multiple requests, add the respective number of the request. It is also considered good practice to link to previous requests for rights when nominating a user.

- Zero is like the brother I wish I had, I've known him since the beginning and we've stuck with each other through good times and bad. Zero can always dish out justice in the chat rooms and makes this domain both orderly and fun, roll on the Admin! --From the desk of Br1ck an1mator 15:19, June 28, 2012 (UTC)

Neutral
I'm not going to oppose for this reason, but I really think he needs more mainspace edits, and without them, I don't see a need for the rights. Berrybrick 14:43, June 28, 2012 (UTC)- Moved to oppose. Berrybrick 17:24, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
- Per Berrybrick, he's a nice friendly user, just needs to edit more.Clone gunner commander jedi talk

- Per BB. Wonderful user but I'd like to see some more activity from him first. -User:King of Nynrah/sig1 17:25, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
Oppose
- Okay, I'm sorry, but per my "neutral" reasons. I've decided that since the supports I've read are so bad, except for Mr. Minifigure's, I need to oppose, since I actually have good reasons to do so. Berrybrick 17:24, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
- Am I allowed to, too? User:CM4S/Sig
- Sure. Berrybrick 17:33, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
- Am I allowed to, too? User:CM4S/Sig
- Definitely per Berrybrick- when someone makes over 600 edits to their own userpage, but only just have 500 mainspace edits, I'm really seeing 0 need for these rights. And I guess I can never fully trust someone after they vandalise another wiki, nomatter how long ago it was, and I need to have that trust to make a support vote. NovaHawk 22:27, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
- Per above, doesn't need the rights, have over 600 edits to userpage, lacks mainspace, and I don't have 100% trust. --User:CzechMate/czech 23:38, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not trying to be cruel, but the user in question isn't always the maturest and doesn't necessarily need administrator tools. I doubt he'd even have good reason to use them. Besides, like CP has said, he lacks mainspace edits and has mostly profile edits. If we need another new admin, it should at least be one with plenty of actual, worthwhile edits on the wiki. - User has accepted per chat. User:Mr. Minifigure/sig 14:42, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
- Question: Looking through the candidate's deleted and live contributions, I can't find much of a need for the sysop tools. Would he mind telling us what he plans to use them for, and what experience he has in those areas? User:Ajraddatz/sig 16:27, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
- I am active on the wiki, although I may not actively edit, and within chat, I believe I will be able to quickly tackle case of vandalism, such as spam custom pages and then ban the vandals. I am very often found on chat which is commonly where people will come to ask for administration advice and support, such as deleting pages/protecting/moving them so I'll be able to actively and quickly confront these problems as often there are very little admins on chat. I have had chat mod rights for about 5 months now so I am experienced in handling users with warnings on chat. I have had rollback rights for a month and have had quite a bit of experience patrolling the recent activity and reverting vandalism. - zero
