ToaMeiko - functionary

I am requesting functionary rights because I have been active in preventing abuse on the wiki, most notably removing spam and blocking spam bots. Right now I hold global system administrator rights across Brickimedia which has given me all the same tools and access as functionary rights would, however I'd like to have the functionary flag anyways as CheckUsering spambots is technically not in the system administrator scope or responsibilities. Being a local functionary will assure that I'm not using my system administrator rights for more than they're intended for, and will also add some additional accountability and responsibility when using those tools, as I will be a local rights holder as opposed to a global rights holder. - Support, Meiko could probably use them correctly. Active and trusted and such. Ajraddatz (talk) 04:53, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
Support, Meiko knows how to use these Rights. User:Starrocks923- (Sorry, 50 mainspace edits are required to vote in URRs NovaHawk 13:50, 4 May 2015 (UTC))

- Note to current functionaries: To see my previous habits of using CheckUser tools you can see my actions in the log to assess how I intend to use these rights in the future. --ToaMeiko (talk) 12:49, 4 May 2015 (UTC)

I have requested the Patroller right, because I am a very frequent editor and I feel that I should be able to patrol my edits, allowing others to do other productive things with their time. Latenightguy (talk) 18:51, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
Verdict
Done. Now I can stop patrolling you edits. You better go back and patrol everything :P --LK901 18:53, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
Brikkyy13 - Administrator
|
Brikkyy13 (Talk - Contribs - Block/rights logs - Logs) - (4,760 edits, 2,873 mainspace) |
I've been a part of the wiki for just over 2 years now, and have only recently started getting rights. I've been writing good quality news articles for us and have recently been editing articles with important information such as LEGO.com descriptions (among regular edits). I've been editing many articles to a good standard to be nominated for February's BOTM. I've also been identifying many spambots, and it would be a lot easier to be able to delete them myself than having to ask someone else to do so. I do have enough mainspace edits when combined with these edits (though I myself am not too sure how the user page count got so high :/), so I am qualified. After 2 years with the wiki I know how everything works and how we work as a community, so I do believe that I have the qualities that would make me a good administrator. I also believe that if I was granted administrator rights I'd be able to increase my abilities on the wiki with the extra tools that I would be given. Being granted administrator would only increase my ability to help and contribute to the wiki. BrikkyyTalk 04:31, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

- I was surprised to see that your number of mainspace edits wasn't as high as I expected (I would have assumed around 2000 or something). That's not a problem, because as a user who contributes so constructively and regularly as you is proof that quality exists over quantity. Brikkyy is a positive member of the community who engages in all areas of the site and is attentive to current discussions and topics of interest going on in the community. Brikkyy is responsible and knowledgeable about the site and its various policies and its standards. I see him being a valuable asset to Brickipedia's team of administrators as he already shines as a valuable asset to the community as a whole. --ToaMeiko (talk) 04:38, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
- I was surprised that you did this. Usually you can guess who will be next to post an RfA. Anyway, having talked to Brickkyy (and only just realised it has two y's) about it, I see no reason to not support. CJC95 (talk) 20:07, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
- At this point, having an admin wiki will be redundant. :P Seriously, though, Brikkyy is a dedicated user, and I have viewed some situations in which he could have made good use of the rights. I don't have a concern about maturity at this point; I don't think he's had a single incident on Brickimedia. So.. yeah, can't see a reason why not to support. - On the one hand, I don't think we need so many admins. On the other hand, who cares? If I really want less admins maybe I'll just remove my bit someday... I don't use it much any more. Ajraddatz (talk) 08:34, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
- Most of the current admins aren't remotely active so if we want to remove admin rights I suggest it's there's. Soupperson1 Friends are Forever! <3

* Does not meet minimum requirements (500 content namespace edits), closing NovaHawk 05:26, 7 January 2015 (UTC- Add his edits from Wikia to his edits here and he does meet requirements (580 content namespace edits total). His edits didn't transfer. --ToaMeiko (talk) 05:29, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
- I'd personally like to see 500 main space edits, and more comments on community forums. Otherwise he's a great choice. Soupperson1 Friends are Forever! <3
- As Meiko said, I actually have 580 mainspace edits. Also, I don't cover much on the forums because my opinion has already been said and is shared by someone else. BrikkyyTalk 21:20, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
- Community forums aren't a responsibility of an administrator. I don't comment on community forums either. He reads and comments on policy forums often enough though, which is all that matters as an administrator. --ToaMeiko (talk) 21:41, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
- The community forums get about 4 comments a month :P CJC95 (talk) 22:01, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
- What are community forums? :P --SCH 5.0 (talk) 01:11, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
- But that's 580 between 2 years, which I personally don't think is enough for adminship. Maybe in a few months? @Meiko I know you don't/no admins comment on the community forums but you/they should/could at least try. :/ Soupperson1 Friends are Forever! <3
- We just lowered the restriction to 500 for a reason. When I put my request for administrator up I had just barely met the requirement (at the time 1000 total edits), and not nearly all of those would have been mainspace. Lower number of edits doesn't mean less experienced or less qualified. It's up to you though. --ToaMeiko (talk) 19:55, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
- I'm still considering this—which may take some time—and will get back to you later. I'm already leaning towards a support, though. - Bug (talk) 01:08, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
