This is my first ever review, so bear with me. I'm going to review 41062 Elsa's Sparkling Ice Castle, one of the newest sets in the Disney Princess line-up. I will get it for Christmas, and if not, I'm kinda screwed up. The set looks really nice. I can get the feel from the movie, with different scenes showcased. You get some really useful pieces, as well as the return of the glitter pieces! Let's take a look at the set:

Basic information:

The Box

The box is a small/medium size. It has those, what some call unnecessary, Friends curves (I like it though). An thank you very very much LEGO, the box is actually taped! If not, I wouldn't be as satisfied as I am with the set right now (:-P). Taped boxes are so fun to open! Anyways. The box displays the Castle in a frozen area, with Olaf as you can see him in the Summer song, Anna (Ah-nah) riding in a sleigh, possibly the one that Kristoff had and Elsa standing on the balcony, perhaps greeting Anna as in the official description of the set. There's also a small picture displaying the backside of the Ice Palace.

On the backside there's some pictures of the set with ideas of how you can play with it:

  1. Elsa controlling the ice stairs.
  2. Elsa and Anna riding the sleigh.
  3. The accessories and cool parts.
  4. The castle/palace itself:
    1. Olaf being happy in the Ice Bar.
    2. Anna doing the makeup.
    3. Elsa reading a book with an Arendelle Castle picture on it.
  5. How to make the mini-dolls.
  6. Elsa riding skis, plus Anna and Olaf having a nice picnic.
  7. Lastly, Elsa taking Anna skating, as they did in the end of the movie.

So there's a lot to do with this amazing set! Let's take a look at the contents:

Contents

I opened this set early the morning of December 25th, and was a great way to kick off Christmas Day. I was surprised when I saw that the box was taped, which made my day, but I'm going to talk about the contents. You get three bags, a 1x16 baseplate and two instruction booklet. I'm not sure if this counts for the American version of this set, so let me know in the comment section!

Bag One

In bag one you get to build the picnic scene, the sleigh and a hill to push the sleigh down. I think that it could include one more thing though: A tree. We get a tree built to the castle, but I think one more would make it perfect.

You get to put together Anna and Olaf. I will talk more about them later.
