Description
Thor has messy hair, the same mould as Dastan's, except in blond. He has a double sided, bearded head with serious and angry expressions. He wears Earth Blue armour, with three circles on each side and grey arms, unprinted earth blue legs and wears a red cape. He has back printing depicting the back of his armour. He wields a new moulded grey hammer which represents Mjolnir, (pronounced Mih-Yoll-Ner), a powerful hammer which only he, or sometimes those who are worthy, can use.
He is based on his appearance in The Avengers.
Background
The Avengers
In The Avengers, Thor returns, via Odin summoning dark matter as the Bifrost was destroyed, to take Loki back to Asgard but Loki refuses and wants to rule Earth instead. He then fights with Iron Man and Captain America, ending in the forest being destroyed. Thor is then brought aboard the Helicarrier and informs everyone that Loki has an army called the Chitauri and means to take over the Earth. During an attack on the Helicarrier, a diversion caused by a mind controlled Hawkeye to help Loki escape, Thor fights with the Hulk trying to reason with him before Hulk attacks a jet. Thor the goes to Loki's holding cell to stop him from escaping, attacking a hologram of Loki and trapped in Loki's cell. He is the forced to watch in horror as Phil Coulson is killed in front of him, before being ejected from the Helicarrier. Thor escapes the cell shortly before it shatters against the ground.
Thor, furious with his brother, then joins the Avengers which includes Captain America, Iron Man, The Hulk, Hawkeye, and Black Widow, to protect the Earth from Loki and his newly summoned Chitauri army. He attempts to talk Loki out of taking over the Earth, appealing to his sense, but Loki stabs him in the side and escapes. Thor uses his lightning as a way to help the fight, including taking the thunder away from Hulk's smash, much to his anger. After the battle, he takes the Tesseract and Loki back to Asgard.
Notes
- He had the same head as the 2011 Han Solo when on display at the New York Toy Fair.
- His hammer is also used in the Monster Fighters theme by Jack McHammer.
- On 6868 Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout's preliminary set image, it shows Thor with no sleeves and is wearing his "Helmet", suggesting that this was the original concept for the Thor minifigure.
