Last night I was lucky enough to go to the premiere of the new Avengers: Age of Ultron movie, and now I'm here, giving my thoughts in a review. I'll try to keep this spoiler-free (except in the plot section) but if I can't manage that all spoilers will be marked.
Plot - WARNING: SPOILERS
THIS SECTION CONTAINS A DETAILED OUTLINE OF THE FILM. IF YOU DO NOT WISH FOR THE FILM TO BE SPOILED PLEASE SKIP TO THE NEXT SECTION.
The film opens with earth's mightiest heroes ransacking a Hydra fortress in an attempt to steal back Loki's scepter. While The Avengers try to break into the fortress, Baron Von Strucker is advised to let Hydra's new experiments onto the battlefield. Strucker refuses, however the Maximoff twins leave anyway. Quicksilver has some fun with Captain America, while Scarlet Witch stays behind to guard the scepter.
Iron Man manages to get into the fortress (with a little help from the Iron Legion) and immediately starts looking for the scepter. While he tries to locate it, he downloads all of Hydra's secrets onto a USB-like device. Tony eventually finds the scepter, but before he can steal it Scarlet Witch pulls some sort of mind trick and convinces Tony that all the Avengers died because of him. He does break free and steals the scepter, much to Quicksilver's dismay.
As Tony is leaving the compound, the rest of the Avengers arrive. Scarlet Witch and Captain America have a small fight, but eventually everyone escapes. Black Widow calms down The Hulk and earth's mightiest heroes board the Quinjet.
The Avengers return to the tower in New York City and begin debriefing. Thor gives Tony and Bruce 3 days to study the scepter before he has to take it back to Asgard. While they conduct their studies, Tony downloads all the information from Hydra into his computers and discovers an anomaly. Tony discovers a peace-keeping program which he decides will bring "peace on earth." He tells Bruce of his plans to create "Ultron," but he immediately tells him that it's a bad idea. Tony ignores Bruce and sets out to recode the program for his own purposes.
Tony instructs Jarvis to let him know when the Ultron program is finished, but Jarvis says it will take a long time because of the encryption. Tony joins the rest of the Avengers for a house party, in which the Black Widdow/Bruce Banner love sub-plot is introduced. Stan Lee also has his cameo in this scene; Thor is drinking an Asgardian concoction that he claims has been aged for a thousand years and no mortal could withstand it. Stan Lee immediately disagrees and demands a drink. Thor reluctantly gives in and pours Stan the Man some. After one sip Stan stumbles away in a drunken stupor, mumbling "excelsior" to himself.
