Re:WikiActivity
Hey Nova. Berry answered the question for the most part. It looks a little prettier/neater, new users may be a little more used to it, and sometimes seeing what photos are added to a page can be quite useful. :P BrickfilmNut (talk) 17:01, 3 November 2013 (UTC)
Import
So I went for the import, but as you can see, it didn't go too well. The dump from wikia seems to be partially broken, and to make it worse the backup of en I made was also corrupted, meaning I had to use this backup. I'm sorry.
- No, it will be possible. I should have done the whole of en onto dev first, which is what I will do before anything else now, and I need to ensure the bricki dumps are good. Other than that, there shouldn't be too many problems, I just need to test it all on dev first. UltrasonicNXT (talk)

Rating conversion
Now we've got some pages, I've been thinking about how to convert all of our articles to using the Article Ratings extension. My current plan involves various stages of bot replacing, which I'm pretty sure would work, but I just wondered if you had anything on your mind about ratings? Cheers, UltrasonicNXT (talk)
- That's great to hear it can be botted this time around :) The only thing I can think of right now is can a semantic property be attached to the rating? I've noticed CJC doing some calls to get all ratings in Ninjago, and I think there is some smw stuff around the place with calls to the rating property. If not, no worries, ARE still easily beats the system we've got NovaHawk 18:56, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
- I was talking with CJC earlier, and I thought of this too. I'll look into it. I'm going to start doing that botting now. UltrasonicNXT (talk)
SMW
There's also a load of SMW stuff that we need to sort out. See review pages, but there's also the stuff I did with themeTable. I think we may be running a different version of SMW to wikia, things are looking very different. Everything seems to want to be a link... :/
Lots more to be said here I think, :), UltrasonicNXT (talk)
- Hi NXT, having a quick look at all the pages in the property namespace, I think there are a few missing, so their type would be defaulting to Page, and most of them should be String. Hope that helps, I'll be back in action in a few days and will be able to take a good look at it then. NovaHawk 18:56, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

Is it coincidence or did you see my feedback on LEGO LoTR? :P
Re:Interwiki Contests
They'll be head exclusively on Brickimedia for Brickipedia and the CUUSOO wiki and on wikia for the others. BrickfilmNut (talk) 01:20, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
SMW
For some reason, only one of those properties seems to be registering as a string. All the others are still titles, and so we still get the annoying links... I defined a load as 'text', but I checked the docs, and string is just an alias for text, so that shouldn't make a difference. None of the text ones are showing up on Special:Types either. Do you think we're defining them wronly somehow?
Cheers, UltrasonicNXT (talk)
- That string one is in the news ns, rather than all the others in main, perhaps that's something to do with it.. UltrasonicNXT (talk)
- When I installed SMW with the 1.22 update, I had to use a slightly older version, becuase the new one required loads of dependencies, and I couldn't be bothered to install them. I'll try updating to the new version sometime soon, see if that makes any difference. UltrasonicNXT (talk)
- I've updated SMW to 1.9, lets see if that makes any difference. UltrasonicNXT (talk)
- I've just changed the default data type to text, and so far it looks to be working. However, it does mean all the data has to be refreshed again, so I've got the server doing that in the background, though it may take a while before everything is back to normal. (Better than having to wait for days like we did on wikia though ;) ) UltrasonicNXT (talk)
- I've updated SMW to 1.9, lets see if that makes any difference. UltrasonicNXT (talk)

Re: Messages NS
Which are you looking for? If you have a few in mind, a plaintext list I can import from would save you the time of doing it manually. Otherwise I can try importing them all from wikia minus the CSS and JS, but we still might get lots of stuff we don't really need any more, I'm not too sure... UltrasonicNXT (talk)

And yes, Barbara is the only Batgirl who has appeared in LEGO (she's easy to spot, as she is the only one who has red hair). Reverting imported pages
Is it really necessary to do that? I mean, both wikis are under CC-BY-SA so we can technically take content from each other as we want. I know your intention, and it's fine. But the fact that we'd basically add the same information back to the page eventually seems to make the reverting a bit unnecessary. idk --ToaMeiko (talk) 03:35, 26 February 2014 (UTC)

Feeds
I just wanted to let you know that our Feed for Brickipedia News is invalid and has a lot of issues that render it non-functional. I don't know if this is an issue with how we have it set up on-wiki; if it isn't just an issue with how we set it up, then it should be reported as a bug with the software. --ToaMeiko (talk) 20:00, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
- Additionally to all the validator issues that we really need to fix, it's going to need a
<updated>tag on each post, since basically every RSS reader/interpreter/bot works chronologically, and a<author>tag since that's required in RSS. --ToaMeiko (talk) 06:21, 2 March 2014 (UTC)

Hm. I don't know. It actually seems to me like we've been getting a pretty decent amount of edits recently, probably mainly due to some good new contributors who've shown up. (I've also been editing more, as I have a more or less free month right now.) It might be a good idea, but I'd hardly say it's necessary at the moment. (also, Alien Conquest and Monster Fighters have pretty decent page quality overall, as they both had fanbases. some other theme would probably be more relevant). -Cligra

I've been working on a slight improvement to them, but I've only added it to so far, Template:SWsets and Template:BIONICLEsets. See Template:BIONICLEsets/2002 for example. I've been wanting to have something like that for a few years, and finally did it, though the code and implementation is pretty bad code wise :P Anyway, its just time consuming (5-10 minutes for say BIONICLE) and the issue with most current ones is that you also have to update them, since no one has since they were created in 2011/12, which doubles the time it takes... I know we generally don't go by videogames, but in LEGO Batman 2 both of Two-Face's vehicles were called "trucks". It's not really much of an armoured car in this set, it's more of a truck, unlike the original set. LCF (talk!) 01:27, 8 June 2014 (UTC)

Opinion? I did it after seeing how they form in awkward rows on actual articles, and I gotta say, I prefer them all sliding up like my example. However, it does seem a little less organised, as the order has to go down in columns, not across in rows, and it does need a container div, so another template, so I don't know whether it's worth the tradeoff.
- I wondered if you might :P Yeah, it's not ideal. Ok, do you think it's worth a forum? UltrasonicNXT (talk)
Purging
Hmm, I did it at Fusion, and all the SMW properties stayed in the themetable, just the themetable's colouring stopped (went back to default colours), and it wouldn't come back until I did a blank edit, as you described. Very strange. UltrasonicNXT (talk)
- I'm not even sure how I did them all! I may have written a short python script to print them all out so I could copy paste, unless I somehow found a way to do it in word... (Not sure I did though). Ok sure! UltrasonicNXT (talk)
Soccer Player
I noticed you couldn't find the backs of some of these figures. I figured a good place to look (Though not a usual place of reference of course) would be eBay and I found several listings of the minifigures from the French National Team. An example would be here. Another one is here. Wasn't sure if it was a description thing or you needed an actual image, in which case I'm not sure if we've found much luck. But wanted to let you know just in case it was helpful. :) Soccer pages are really coming along by the way! -NBP3.0 (talk) 01:51, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

Re: I'm stuck on a coding thing again :P
The problem is that the parser functions are all expanded on the server side, while the {{USERNAME}} is expanded on the client side. This means that when the server does the {{#ask:, all it sees where you've put {{USERNAME}} is <span class="insertusername"></span>, as this won't be converted to the actual username until it reaches the JS on the client side.
This makes it a lot harder to do. Do you remember the {{USERNAME}} magic word thing a little while ago? I created a {{USERNAME}} magic word, that would be expanded on the server side, to make things like this possible. The problem is, when a page is cached, so is the username, so one person would be viewing the page, but the {{USERNAME}} would be showing a different user who viewed the page earlier.
I can think of no easy solution. We could do a USERNAME magic word as above, but this would mean turning a fair bit of caching off on our set pages, which would probably impact performance badly, so possibly a no-go. The other solution is to do it all in javascript, which is doable, but it would need calls to the API and suchlike (I haven't yet figured out a concrete way to do this, but I'm sure it's possible.

So basically the fact that I'd rather serve a purpose in the community than to feel useless is a bad thing? --ToaMeiko (talk) 02:56, 17 July 2014 (UTC)
- Serve a purpose in the community? When has checkuser or oversight last been used here? Never. Because to date, they've never needed to be used. So the fact you're saying you'll only bother to actually start contributing some real mainspace content on the condition you get more rights to laud over everyone else is, well, outrageous.
