5242 Differential and Steering Elements is a service pack released in 1987.

The set included 19 parts, all in light grey. Included were: an old-style differential housing, a universal joint, four bevel gears, two axle/pegs, two steering brackets, three 8-stud steering arms, three 6-stud steering arms and three 4-stud steering arms.
