ReBrick Name The Ship.jpg

Our friends at Eurobricks have confirmed that at least one Pirates set (a ship, at that) will be released in early 2015. This comes with the current ReBrick contest "Name the Ship".

Sail ho! Early next year a new ship will set sails on the LEGO waters joining Brickbeard’s Bounty and the Black Sea’s Barracuda in the never ending search for treasure. And do you want to know something really awesome? You can help name it! That is right. This is a contest for finding the best name for a LEGO Pirate Ship. Aye, Matey!

Do you think this will be the only Pirates set next year, or do you think it will come alongside a complete theme? Leave your comments below!

I'm hoping for a modern reboot:

  • Somalia pirates - where all the cool pirates are these days
  • Internet pirates - E.g., downloading the latest GoT episode set.

I hope they do something different from the last five times they've done this theme. Islanders would be a nice change, or even (gasp!) something completely original.

I'm not a big Pirates fan, though if it's at least as good as the last one while offering something slightly different, I'll probably pick up a set or two.

I just hope that they use bluecoats, islanders, conquistadors, or some mythical characters as the "villains" this time, but I doubt that'll happen....

I'd probably be a lot more excited for this theme if I didn't just get the Sea Cow this month... :P I guess my Imperial guys could always use a ship, at least... I really hope there are some good ships under the $100 price point if a full theme is made.
