Hey everyone! BrickFair Virginia, one of the largest LEGO fan events in the United States, is taking place in less than a week. At the event there will be hundreds if not thousands of AFOLs displaying their creations, as well as several people (including LEGO employees) holding seminars. Currently you can find a Schedule of Events on BrickFair's website. I've already organised most of my schedule, but please do name anything you'd like me to attend and report on in case I haven't already fitted it onto my schedule. Outside of the seminars I'll also be able to meet with some other people if you're interested in asking a few questions for them. I don't know who all is going to be there yet, but some people that I know I will list below, and ask any questions you have for them in the comments. I'll get a response on them as soon as I can.

Peter Espersen - Head of co-creation for the LEGO Group (involves ReBrick, LEGO Ideas, etc)
Joe Meno - Editor of BrickJournal magazine
Mariann Asanuma - Former LEGO Master Model Builder at LEGOLAND California and owner of http://modelbuildingsecrets.com
Shilo Parker - Minifigure customiser

There are always other people though. You can look at the list of registered attendees here. If you recognise any other names on there, don't hesitate to let me know you have questions for them.

Also, if there are any sets currently in stores that you'd like to see me post a review of, this is the time of year when I often spend the most on LEGO in a single purchase because of the discounts. If there's something you want me to review and I'm ever so slightly interested in getting it, I'll buy it during BrickFair and review it soon after.

Of course, with all the fun activities going on, I'll also be taking pictures of everything I can and uploading them to my Flickr. I will share a link once I start uploading the first batch.

If any other Brickipedia members are also planning on attending BrickFair Virginia, let me know and maybe we can meet up at some point.

Too bad there isn't anyone who works at the main LEGO thing there. If so, I would ask you to suggest to them that they should add some fantasy elements to their current Castle theme. :P

I'm fairly certain he's aware of it as I've spoken with him before and mentioned it, but I highly doubt he checks it often since there's very little reason why he would.

I may not be able to take pictures of the 3D Printing seminar (and there may be nothing to take pictures of) but I'll definitely share anything interesting that was discussed then. :)

Boy do I wish I could go, have fun and get yourself some nice sets. Can't wait to read more of your reviews!

Also those are some really big names on that list, any contact or word with them about our site's existence would be pretty sweet. :P

I know Joe Meno is aware of Brickimedia since he's given me miscellaneous advice and insight about it at times. I'm heavily involved and in contact with LEGO Ideas staff, however there isn't much they can do to promote us since it would be biased and unfair marketing which as a large company, they can't get away with.
