Are you ready, Brickipedians?

Who flies with slingshots up in the trees?

Bright colored, grumpy, and angled are these!

If avian adventures are something you dread,

Then drop from the leaves and fall on your head!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Angry Birds teaser.jpg

Angry Birds are coming, and we have a teaser from Kotaku. Look, an egg. That should be really useful for...eggs. It doesn't seem to have any connection points. If you want a minifigure to hold it, you'll need to give them that beautiful birdie's arms...seems like a combo made in heaven, to me. This teaser also, quite clearly, confirms playsets. Surely you could have figured that out for yourself, but pointing out the obvious is where reporters like me excel. According to Kotaku, the poster will be on display at the LEGO booth at next week's San Diego Comic-Con.

Oh, and those green things surrounded our feathered avenger would seem to be pigs, and they have regular arms.

It's based off the 2016 movie, not the app

I feel like this theme was designed and pitched by someone forced to work on weekends who hates but loves his/her job. I think K'Nex did something like this... That kinda worked, so if we put studs on it and wait for the license to expire maybe we could do it? Can't wait for sets that LEGO loves being stable being destroyed in commercials... I really don't have much of a problem with most of LEGO's licensing choices. But then they chose this... Is it that hard to not make more City sets or something? I'm sure another dose of Police would help this.

What makes things worse is this seems to be the only new licensed theme (unless you count DC Girls) to come out next year.

As for non licensed themes, we'll get a new theme to replace Chima. And we'll get an old theme to replace UA, and possibly a theme replacing Pirates

Eh, I'm not fond of it either, but anything is better than treetop police, or whatever police they would have done in its place.

I'm picturing something sort of like the Minecraft sets, just not as good...maybe there will be good foliage pieces (which can bleed into other themes) at least.

Well one less theme for me to buy. I'm pretty sure the egg isn't a real part something they just added in for looks.

I hope the egg appears in other sets/themes (it looks like about the right size to fit in with a dinosaur scene), because I don't think I'll be able to justify buying any of these sets...

Ooh, ooh! 1960s Batman set with Vincent Price Egghead launching them from a chicken cannon, please!

He was such a good villain. I remember the time when he enforced a tax on all eggs in the city and then forced people to eat them as part of a get rich quick scheme. Ah, nostalgia. Good times, good times.... x)

I'm REALLY hoping they make JP sets too, or at least more JW (like a Mosasaurus).

Also, seeing as most of the JW sets are out of stock, I assume they're selling pretty good.
