LEGO have announced a new range of Star Wars based large-scale buildable figures. The first two announced are Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, and will retail in the US at $19.99 and $29.99 respectively. The accompanying press release is below:

First LEGO® Star Wars Large scale Buildable Figures Unveiled at New York Toy Fair

Expanding the way children can build and play within the Star Wars universe, new large scale Buildable Figures unveiled – sets featuring, among others, Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker ($19.99 & $29.99 to be launched in September). Additional Buildable Figures in the collection will be unveiled throughout the year. The Battle for the galaxy will get bigger!

At least there's someone else in the world who doesn't like them, I thought I must have been going mad since everyone else seems to love them :P

I'm just glad they didn't each come with an exclusive minifigure or something, at least I can pass on these and have zero regrets about doing so.

A lot of constraction fans love them (well, mostly Vader, but some people actually like Luke). Most LEGO fans have responded with the usual ew, cooties.

I like how some of the new pieces came out. Vader actually looks kind of fitting, but that's because he's "more machine now than man", so he's got quite the advantage over Luke.
