Although most of these castings have been pretty much confirmed for a while, a press release has been published, confirming that the castings for The LEGO Ninjago Movie are genuine, as well as revealing a few more actors and characters to appear in the film. Here's the full list:

There's also a bit of a plot summary you can find on the site or just read below:

Red2x2.png This is a description taken from Business Wire. Please do not modify it. (visit this item's product page) In this big-screen Ninjago adventure, the battle for Ninjago City calls to action young Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, who are all secret warriors and LEGO Master Builders. Led by kung fu master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat evil warlord Garmadon, the Worst Guy Ever, who also happens to be Lloyd’s dad. Pitting mech against mech and father against son, the epic showdown will test this fierce but undisciplined team of modern-day ninjas who must learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash their true power.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie is due to be released on September 22, 2017.

Is this a reboot of the television series? With completely different voice actors, new characters (Koko, LEGO, really?), and probably another redundant story line, why do I feel like I'm going to hate this?

Updated the news article (it was tweeted a while after, this news article was ancient history by then and I didn't think to update it, sorry)

Hmm was never really interested in Ninjago, but I think I'll watch it when it comes out. :P It's pretty cool that David Franco is voice acting, he did a really good job acting in "Now You See Me 2"

I don't know why, but until I read this latest summary, I never realised that this was going to be in the style of The LEGO Movie and thought it was going to be more "real", less comedy, now I don't know if I can really be bothered too much with it. Naming it in the same style as "The LEGO Movie" and "The LEGO Batman Movie" should have probably given it away. Personally I can't see this working well, unlike the Batman Movie which I think will actually be funny.

I also don't get why they seem to be changing Japanese styles over to Chinese (sensei + kendo + ninja = Japanese, kung fu = Chinese)? I'm guessing they used "Master" because "Sifu Wu" rhymes? (I know they have been using Master more than Sensei lately in the sets as well though)

Jackie Chan is from Hong Kong, so maybe that's why? Sort of like Batgirl matches Rosario Dawson?

Still weird though. Because even if Chan is Chinese, ninja aren't. :P

Some people seem to think that it'll be a parody of the high school adventure movies like Spider-Man and Spy Kids. Seems sort of specific to me since I don't think those are that popular right now, whereas superhero movies are, and there will always be chosen one stories. I'll wait for a trailer before deciding anything though.

(Oh, and switching out Misako for Koko is the sort of needless change I don't like to see. What is the point of that?)

Just going off the name alone... Koko sounds like a very different character to what Misako would be like :S
