John Lennon was one of the main songwriters of the band The Beatles until their break-up in 1970.
Background
John was born on October 9, 1940. He later started The Beatles alongside Paul McCartney. The other two members were George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Due to various reasons, the band broke up in 1970. John Lennon spent the rest of his life in his solo career with his wife Yoko Ono until his assassination in December 8, 1980.
