Richard Grayson is a DC comics character.
Background
Richard Grayson, otherwise known as "Dick" was a circus acrobat with his family until mob boss Tony Zucco fiddled with the trapeze ropes when his parents were doing a trapeze act without a net and they plunged to their demise. Bruce Wayne knew what the boy must be going through seeing as the same thing happened to his parents when he was a boy, he took Dick in as his ward. dick became Robin, the colorful acrobatic sidekick of Batman. Together they took down Zucco. Years later, Dick got shot when he and Batman were engaged in a rooftop chase with The Joker. Dick decided to give up the mantle and so Bruce passed it on to young Jason Todd with disastrous results. Many years later, Dick made a new persona for himself and began crimefighting in Gotham City, and its sister city, Bludhaven, as Nightwing. He is also a founding member of the Teen Titans.
