Review:7754 Home One Mon Calamari Star Cruiser/NovaFlare
It's no Palpatine's Office, but still a nice set[edit | edit source]
This set is the 2009 Fan's Choice winner, personally I was really hoping for a Palpatine's Office set, and the initial description of the set didn't seem too appealing to me. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the first images of this set. I found the range of minifigures amazing- Mon Mothma, Admiral Ackbar, General Madine and a new Lando especially. Having the A-Wing come from Green Squadron was definitely a nice touch for a bit of a colour dfference in starfighters, and if you already have a red A-Wing, it doesn't make you feel like you're purchasing a set which you basically already have half of. The hangar controls for the A-Wing are good to have as well, being able to move it back and forth and rotate it around, as well installing/removing the motor gives the set some of functionality, along with the A-Wing being able to have a fuel pump plugged into it. The bridge and briefing area look impressive, but the briefing area doesn't have a floor which I really don't like, and it also falls apart very easily. Overall, a pretty good set, not the best set ever, but definitely not bad.

- No baseplate for the briefing room, and can fall apart easily
- Would have much preferred an actual Mon Calamari Cruiser, like the 6211 Imperial Star Destroyer.
