Background

While mourning the death of her sister Paige after an attack on a First Order Dreadnaught, Rose Tico crossed paths with Finn and deduced that the First Order was tracking the resistance through hyperspace from their flagship. The two embarked on a mission to infiltrate the flagship and disable the tracking system. The two failed, and were captured and sentenced to death by Captain Phasma. They escaped to the planet Crait with the rest of the resistance after Vice Admiral Holdo destroyed the First Order Flagship.

During a ground battle between the resistance and the First Order, Rose was rendered unconscious when she piloted her ski speeder into Finn's to prevent him from sacrificing himself.
