A motion to set a precedent that chat moderators should take an active role in the community besides chat, such as editing, maintenance, template creation, image uploading, or the like, either here, at Brickipedia Customs or at Brickimedia Meta, and to that end, propose the removal of those who currently have the right but do not partake in any of the aforementioned activities. CJC95 (talk) 13:17, 15 September 2014 (UTC) :Completely agreed, if you look at the amount of traffic we have in chat as opposed to editing it shows that we have too much invested there and not enough in the actual site. I propose that we demote any chat mod who has not made an edit within a specified amount of time, whether it be 2 weeks, a month, etc. -NBP3.0 (talk) 13:34, 15 September 2014 (UTC) ::I can work with either. CJC95 (talk) 20:26, 19 September 2014 (UTC) :::My recommendation is 1 month, we should bring this to attention and then implant it. The question will be how you get chat moderator back. -NBP3.0 (talk) 17:13, 20 September 2014 (UTC) ::::Make them re-request it. They should have to show they're willing to work for the right again, since clearly they haven't shown that effort since getting the right in the first place. --ToaMeiko (talk) 05:00, 21 September 2014 (UTC) :::Agree with this totally. I really need to get editing again, but time is hard to find.... :( --LK901 10:32, 21 September 2014 (UTC) ::::I think it would be fine as long as you do something when you can, which you usually do. Berrybrick (talk) 13:00, 21 September 2014 (UTC) :I have mixed feelings about this one, to be honest. It feels almost like threatening users into editing, from my point of view. I feel that unless it's set up carefully, we'll either have users who feel they have too much to do to keep their rights in tact and just give them up, or do the bare minimum required to keep them. Either way is not too effective; I feel there could be much better ways to encourage editing, whether it's promoting it as an activity; saying "Hey, could you help me with this page" from time to time; or things like that. Though at the same time, I understand we don't really need all that many chat mods right now. It's more that I feel this change will be ineffective rather than harmful. I'll go neutral for now, but I'm leaning towards opposing. BrickfilmNut (talk) 01:38, 24 September 2014 (UTC) ::We've encouraged editing in so many ways, no one cares. If you compare our chat numbers to our amount of daily, nay weekly, editors you would be shocked. Nobody is forcing anyone to edit, but if you want to have rights on this site you have to establish yourself through both editing and chat first. I don't see how it would be fair for someone to get special privelages to a site they don't even care about, only there for its chat system. If we were a site dedicated to LEGO forums/chatting, I don't think it would matter. But we're low on man-power and plenty of people have gotten rights and run away with them. Some kind of rule or system needs (or has needed) to be in put place. -NBP3.0 (talk) 13:24, 24 September 2014 (UTC) :::Again, it's not so much the feeling that it'd be harmful as opposed to the feeling that it's going to be ineffective. I could be wrong, though, so I only went neutral. BrickfilmNut (talk) 14:14, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
