* Hall of Mirrors is a codename from a scene in Episode VII, therefore it likely refers to either the Battle on Takodana or The Pirate Transport.

MintInBox.net has revealed the lineup of names for the first wave of Star Wars sets for 2016 next year. Without further ado, here they are:

Microfighters
Regular sets
Constraction figures

What do you think of the lineup? Let us know in the comments below!

Here's my review of the wave (figured it'd be less intrusive to put it here in the forums instead of the news post):

  • Microfighters (all): Not bad choices I guess. Nothing that really grabs my attention either. I'm guessing the TFA ones will be a white T-70 X-wing and a TIE Fighter.
  • Battle on Takodana/The Pirate Transport: no comment, because I don't know what they are :P I like the 60/40 balance between the new movies/games and the original six movies though, personally I think it's a pretty good ratio to stick to for the next few years.
  • Bespin Carbon Freezing Chamber: Finally! Can't wait. I'm hoping to get an Episode V Lando at the very least. Although... as I'm typing this, I'm wondering if it will simply be a battle set between Luke and Vader.... they'd need more than 2 minifigs though so I don't think so.
  • Droid Escape Pod: Boooring. I mean really, do we need a third version of the escape pod? I know I complain about Snowspeeders, but at least they do something. This escape pods just fell to the ground, and was in the movie for like 10 seconds. But they'll probably throw in a bantha this time just so people will buy it.
  • Battlefront battle packs: Did not expect to be getting Battlefront sets. Although I was looking forward to four TFA battle packs, I'm still excited by this lineup. Hopefully it'll have a couple of troops in it that weren't in the movies but are in the game (eg, Shock troopers or Jump troopers for the Imperials, and some Rebels with jetpacks or something like that Sullustan with a rocket launcher from the trailer for the Rebels)
  • TFA battle packs: Inevitable. Can't wait to see them though. As long as there's at least one each of a Storm, Flame and Snow trooper for the FO battle pack, I'll be happy.
  • Hoth Attack: Please don't have a Snowspeeder. Please don't have a Snowspeeder. Please don't have a Snowspeeder. I'm hoping this one will be more Imperial focused (it does say Hoth Attack). Hopefully an AT-PT or at least an AT-ST, and a small turret or bunker for the Rebels.
  • Obi-Wan's Jedi Interceptor: Same reaction as the Bespin set: Finally! As long as it's the red one. I've been waiting for Obi-Wan's red starfighter since 2005. I never even saw 7283 when it was out, and even if I did I probably wouldn't have bought it because I had everything else in the set already. So as long as it's not the blue Eta-2, I don't think anything could go wrong with this set. Hoping for an extra minifig like Bail Organa, but I'm not worried if there isn't one.
  • Constraction Figures: Couldn't care less.

Overall, very excited for this wave, there's only one straight-out remake and there's a good range of sets from a variety of sources. It's probably the best first wave lineup I've seen in years.

Updated with three new sets (names but nothing else listed on shop.lego.com): 75142 Homing Spider Droid, 75143 A-Wing Starfighter, and the one that everyone's just dying to get: 75144 Snowspeeder.

It could be worth mentioning that the full name of 75143 is "Confidential Walmart A-Wing Starfighter". The "confidential" might indicate an Episode VII A-wing? Also worth noting is that 75145-75152 redirect to the shop's main page, whereas invalid numbers go to a "not found" page. So maybe another sets coming relatively soon? :S

I love how they put "confidential" in the name, because people would suspect something special if it weren't. Inconspicuous.

Yay. One of these days I'll maybe get a Snowspeeder. I'm glad LEGO accommodates people like me who might maybe want to get a Snowspeeder one day, but probably won't. It's nice to have that option.

I really hope 75138 Hoth Attack has a Snowspeeder in it. Wouldn't it be great to get two full-size snowspeeders in the same wave?

I hope that confidential A-wing is just code for a flying Snowspeeder.

(First post updated with images we're allowed to add)

Figured I'd add my opinions, because the forums are getting used way too much :P

Microfighters
  • Resistance X-wing: while the "prelims" are nearly final, this one looks kinda plain at the moment, I'm guessing there will be stickers on the final product. The use of those dome pieces on the wings are a pretty nice choice. Good to be getting a Gorwyn figure :)
  • First Order Snowspeeder: Well, I still don't know what this thing looks like in the movie, but it looks to be a pretty nice replica of the full-size set. Easy way to build up the Snowtrooper side of the army, but no kama?
  • The Ghost: Model looks really well designed for a microfighter, and I don't mind picking up another Hera
  • TIE Advanced Prototype/Wookiee Gunship/AT-DP: Eh, they're ok. Similar to past microfighters, predictable figures (not complaining, I just don't have anything much to say)
Normal sets
  • Resistance Battle Pack: An officer and three different troopers, great selection of figures. Vehicle looks kinda bland apart from the gun on top, but it seems that pretty much all vehicles in Ep7 are going to be grey boxes, so this seems to fit in.
  • FO Battle Pack: Getting a turbolaser turret is pretty cool, but figure selection- not happy. Would have been ok for a 2017 battle pack, but this is the first FO BP, and the main chance of getting to build up your FO army. With such a tiny army at the moment, I do not need a huge group of crew members, or officers. The heavy trooper is great, but it would have been much better if he/she was accompanied by two Stormtroopers and a Flametrooper (you can build up the Snowtrooper section of the army with the Snowspeeder microfighter)
  • Rebel Battle Pack: Looks great, looking forward to it. Suitable vehicle for Battlefront
  • Imperial Battle Pack: Love the figure selection, not sure what the model is (I'm guessing some sort of Jakku turret). Not a fan of battle scarring on Imperial troops (I like my Imperials shiny and white), but I can live with it.
  • Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter: I like the extra detailing (wish it was printed and not stickers, but oh well), and the laser cannons are a better design than 75038. But R4 is sitting waaaaaay too high in the ship, I really hope it's just for illustrative purposes- the old slot R2 fit in to was perfect. Honestly I think I'd prefer it to be a straight recolour of 75038 so they look the same flying around, but whatever, I'm just happy to be getting the red Eta-2.
  • Droid Escape: The last one came out in 2012. Of course we need another one after its five seconds of screen time in Episode IV :/ In fairness, it is a much better designed pod than the other versions. No new figures, but I guess I'm ok with picking up a few more Jawas. Would have liked a Bantha or Beru or something to make the figure selection interesting though.
  • Carbon Freezing Chamber: No Lando. No happiness. Seriously- why? Even after all these weeks, I haven't even really looked at the set, I'm that mad. Will still pick it out when it comes out, it's an iconic part of the OT (but not as iconic as Lando). Not happy.
  • Hoth Attack: Meh. I really have nothing else to say.
  • 75140: Great to be getting Episode VII Leia and Ackbar. The ship looks interesting, defintiely picking this one up.
  • 75141: They're into season two of Rebels, and the set we get is based on the first episode of season 1? Given the limited number of Rebels sets we'll be getting with all the movies coming out, this is a huge missed opportunity for some good models and new minifigs (Seventh Sister)
  • 75142: The same model as the last Spider Droid minus the cannon on the bottom, and the Dwarf Spider Droid hasn't changed at all. No new minifigs. Yeah, like I'm wasting money on this.

Anyway, what does everyone else think of these sets? Honestly I think images of the best set is yet to come (Battle of Takodana), but that may just be wishful thinking. Definitely liking this wave overall though.

Just saw this picture - looks like Ahsoka's blades in 75158 are actually Transparent Fluorescent Blue (as opposed to the Transparent Blue that it looks like in official photos or the standard Transparent Light Blue)

Seems like this is actually the best possible colour- Transparent is, well, completely see-through, and Transparent Brown (ie, just dark transparent and what I thought they'd go with) is probably a bit too dark. The shade they went with actually appears to be kinda greyish blue. So I'll be much happier about getting Ahsoka now :) (although, I was going to buy some extra dark blue blades off the Shop, don't look like they'll be relisted now)
