Recent edits - grammar, punctuation and more[edit source]

Hi. Over the past few days, I have reverted quite a lot of your edits because of grammar issues, punctuation issues and incident in which you added a redlink to an article. I've found that often times you've added words that work with the individual sentences, but when read with the rest of the article make it confusing. Also, you have a tendency to add commas before the word "and", which is grammatically incorrect. So, I'm giving you a few tips that should fix these issues.

  1. Read the article as a whole after you edit to make sure it flows together. This can be done easily by scrolling to the bottom of the editor and clicking "show preview".
  2. Be careful of the "no comma before and" rule. Most of your reverted edits have been due to this problem Do not simply edit articles and only add a comma, this seems like a waste of time that doesn't really add any information to the article.
  3. Check your added links. There is no Classic Yellow Spaceman article because the yellow spaceman is a variant of the Classic Spaceman. This would be like creating a Clone Wars Anakin Skywalker page, it isn't needed because it's covered in the Anakin Skywalker page.

Please keep these in mind when editing. The wiki only has forty-something active users, so we really don't have that many people to keep it up to the standard which it deserves. I do, however, thank you for your dedication to the wiki and your eagerness to edit. Feel free to contact me any time on my talk page. BrikkyyTalk

Just for the record, the serial comma is not grammatically incorrect. Also, there may not be a "Classic Yellow Spaceman" article, but there is one for "Yellow Classic Spaceman." A new redirect would be acceptable, since we don't have strict guidelines on that. Berrybrick (talk) 00:24, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
What are our guidelines like on the serial comma? What I'm definitely not ok with is edits that only add the comma, and do nothing to build up the article. BrikkyyTalk
We have none. I don't see how edits doing nothing but removing the serial comma are any better, but what's done is done. Berrybrick (talk) 03:22, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
The serial comma is usually required in all guidelines where ambiguity could form, for example in these ones I've stolen from Wikipedia:

Since we have no guidelines on such things, I see no reason to add them in (unless an ambiguity exists), and no reason to remove them. CJC95 (talk) 10:26, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
