Background
In the TV series, he has so far appeared in the fifth episode, "Can of Worms", when he and his tribe were freed from their tomb by Pythor and joined forces with him and the other uniting tribes. After hearing word the ninja were searching for the last two tombs, the Venomari and Constrictai staged an ambush on Kai, Jay and later Cole and Zane, nearly killing them in a venomous lake of acid (the toxic bogs). However, Samurai X arrived and scared away the Serpentine, then knocked them out with sleep gas, allowing Sensei to save them. Later, Acidicus was seen along with the other tribe leaders underground Ninjago City, where Pythor was attempting to unite them all. Luckily, the ninja foiled the plan by splitting the tribes against each other with rumors, forcing the tribes to fight. He also appeared in the sixth episode "Snake King", when Pythor P. Chumsworth was fighting all of the other generals for their staffs. Pythor won by playing the sacred flute he stole in "Can of Worms", claiming that he would lead the Serpentine into unleashing The Great Devourer, an unkillable beast that would consume all of Ninjago.
In Season 3 episode 1, Darkness will Rise, he and the other generals brainstormed on how they could win the other Serpentine back, where he reccomends realesing a swarm of evil bees, which is rejected by Skales, so they go with Fangtom's plan, which starts with him tieing up Jay. Then, he, Fangtom, and Skalidor rob a bank, followed by the ninja chasing them on the subway, while Skales attacked Lloyd. However, the plan backfires, and Skales is sent to jail.
After 2 episodes of serving Garmadon, him and the other 2 free generals break Skales out of jail with the Serpentine Bus. They end up getting stuck in the Ninjaball Rally, which they enter, but they lose to the ninja and retreat.
The Quest for Unleashing the Great Devourer
- “Who knows if the legend is even true. I for one, am curious to see what happens.”
- ―Acidicus right before Pythor returned with the Fourth Fang Blade.
After the five tribes had united, Pythor, the new snake king, revealed his goal, to unleash The Great Devourer. Soon, Acidicus, Skalidor, and Fangtom took their staff back, because Pythor didn't know where to find the map leading to the four Fang Blades. Skalidor accidentally hit Acidicus, leading in a small battle. The staffs were dropped fairly close to each other, and the venom of the two staffs ran together, and changed color. Pythor did a similar act with all staffs, put a piece of paper under the venom, and announced that they had a map to all four Fang Blades. When Pythor returned the Ninja stole all four Blades. Luckily, Pythor, having his Anacondrai trait of having the ability to turn invisible, boarded the Bounty and stole them back. They also stole a truck to get to Orabouros. The truck crashed, and all were left behind except for Pythor, who unleashed the Great Devourer, and was eaten by it. The Serpentine realized they made a big mistake to unleash the Great Devorer, and locked themselves up in the Fangpyre Tomb.
LEGO.com Description
This is a description taken from LEGO.com. Please do not modify it. (visit this item's product page)
Acidicus is as dangerous as the toxic bogs the Venomari call their home. Victims who have been hit by the Venomari venom hallucinate and sometimes see their worst fears materialize before them.
General Acidius is the brains of the otherwise intelligently challenged Venomari. He has cleverly constructed vials the Venomari can use for carrying extra venom in their combat gear, so they never, ever run out of venom in battle. He strongly supports Pythor’s efforts to unite the tribes and rule the world.
Notes
- On the official Ninjago website Acidicus has a Hypnobrai fang blade instead of the Venomari staff because he wields it in his only set appearence, 9450 Epic Dragon Battle.
- He has the same head mold as Lizaru, but with white spikes on his head and different printing.
- He appears on the card "Lazy Ninja" along with Skales. He is also on the card "Panic Stations".
- He is known as the "Venomari General" in Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu and is voiced by Paul Dobson who also does the voices for Falcon, Mezmo, Rattla and Sensei Wu.
- He strongly supports Pythor's plan to release the The Great Devourer according to his bio and is curious to see what happens when it is released.
- Acidicus stated, "I fought hard for this staff, and will not give it up easily." This could mean that Acidicus fought a previous Venomari General. It could also mean that he was challenged, but won and held his position as General or is the former general took Lizaru.
- In episode 7, he was hit behind the head by Skalidor when he took his staff back. This resulted in a slap fight, showing the two have a relationship similar to Kruncha and Nuckal. However their fight resulted in Pythor's discovery of how to reveal the map when the anti-venom in the staffs leaked.
- He has a a scar behind his back left eye, thus his making his left pair smaller than the right. (The right pair of Acidicus' eyes are the same as Lizaru's left eyes.)
- Though he has a staff in the show, no Ninjago set comes with Acidicus and the staff (the only way to get the staff is in 9440 Venomari Shrine).
- The Venomari Staff was green in the set, but had a bluish color in the TV Series.
