ToaMeiko (Talk - Contribs - Block/rights logs - Logs) - (150 edits, 6,085 mainspace)

I've been told by several people I should do this. I personally would have held off, but after reading the requirements and the checklist, I realized I meet everything, and do everything on the checklist already. I'm one of the most active Brickipedians anymore, and am almost always patrolling the recent changes, wiki activity and new pages. I've familiarized myself with every Brickipedia policy, including their histories, and even check them frequently when undoing an edit or warning a user to make sure I am in fact making the proper decision. To go through the checklist:

  • Have you been on Brickipedia for more than a few months, and made a few thousand contributions to articles here?
Yes I have. Most of my edits come from minor fixes to pages, creating new pages, and reverting spam, vandalism, or other edits going against a policy, such as the MoS, category guidelines, etc.
  • Do you regularly participate on the forums?
Yes I do. I don't post in all of them, but I check back on each board frequently for new threads and posts, and follow several to stay on track with them.
  • Do you revert vandalism when you see it, or tag pages for deletion?
I do this one all the time. No matter who edits a page, I always check the difference between revisions to see if anything was done wrong. I also patrol new pages, lonely pages, abandoned pages and uncategorized pages looking for ones that would be potential candidates for deletion, and flag them for deletion when necessary. I also check the AfD semi-frequently.
  • Are you bothered?
I always go out of my way to improve pages. If there isn't much activity in any of the special pages I watch for activity on the wiki, I will take the time to go through Special:Random and fix pages, and then go through the categories those pages are in to see if any other similar pages need fixing.

All in all, I feel I do a good job working on Brickipedia. It's one of my main activities as of lately, and I enjoy taking part in the community. It's been a while since Brickipedia has gotten a new admin, and as several have gone inactive recently for various causes, I believe I could do a good job in that place. The biggest point I'd like to make is, and I hope anyone who votes reads this (along with everything above) is that, and I realize, that I do have my flaws. Everyone does. I've made mistakes, but I'm always willing and trying to improve. Thanks for reading this. :) ToaMeiko (talk) 20:48, July 19, 2013 (UTC)

  11. It took a lot of inner debating, and I put a lot of thought into my decision to support ToaMeiko's admin nomination. The way I see it is that he has contributed so much to the wiki (as well as Brickimedia's growth) and would be trustworthy with the tools to block and delete. I feel he has already gained a great amount of respect from the community and should be given a shot at administrator. If something comes up, the community can decide from there. My vote remains supportive, as Brickipedia is all about fresh starts and a welcoming community. I believe he can contribute to that friendliness and use his responsibilities to his advantage. -User:Nerfblasterpro/sig1 00:09, July 30, 2013 (UTC)

  1. Futile as this may be, I think some more time is needed. There have been some controversial reports about Meiko's chats with Sci on Skype -- from the looks of things, Sci has been intentionally provoked at times -- and I'd also like to see how he'd deal with other people who are acting in a counterproductive manner without knowing it; people who mean well, but aren't clear on the rules. (This isn't what I like to see). In addition to that, I have a gut feeling... though he's fine editing-wise. So, weak oppose. -- Jeyo Lord VladekTalk The Forge 05:31, July 27, 2013 (UTC)

(Just thought I'd mention that the first response to my oppose -- on chat -- was not quite as docile/accepting as this one. -- Jeyo Lord VladekTalk The Forge 23:38, July 27, 2013 (UTC))
Per Jeyo. Also, we shouldn't see such things from a future admin. User:Legoboy9373/sig 15:02, July 28, 2013 (UTC)
  2. I'm honestly not comfortable with this. I don't like to judge people by their behaviour at other wikis, but he has had quite a bit of trouble over at the LMBW which mirrors his interactions with Sci mentioned above... While I haven't seen this on Brickipedia yet, when that kind of borderline trolling is happening through two other mediums, I'm not comfortable with giving him the sysop bit. I would certainly be inclined to support after a couple of drama-free months, though. These concerns aside, he has the potential to be a good admin. Ajraddatz (Talk) 23:12, July 29, 2013 (UTC)

  5. This is probably going to be the hugest hypocritical comment I've ever made... I honestly am REALLY not comfortable with this, at all. Meiko has had a very bad history of trolling on other wikis (mainly LMBW), something I really don't think any of our admins here have had, and I certainly don't want one now. He has also been a *bit rude* in some blogs, such as Jeyo has provided. Meiko and I have had many negative incidents in the past (such as the recent provoking people to oppose on my RfCM) and that has really changed my opinion on George very strongly, which really makes me disagree with this. I'd say wait another 6 months/year until doing this. No, just no. --- Sci (talk) 23:59, July 29, 2013 (UTC) Seeing as this already is going to be a success, I will have no further purpose on being a contributor on the wiki. I can't deal with this and I will never handle this.
I'm pretty sure he never "provoked" anyone to oppose your RfCM. >_> Game & Watch 00:07, July 30, 2013 (UTC)

Incorrect. I brought it up to few others telling them how CM4S and the community could benefit from having chat moderator rights, and beyond that, I payed little to no further attention to it. --ToaMeiko (talk) 15:12, July 30, 2013 (UTC)

  • I thought I'd expand on my neutral (although still may not stay neutral)- here is the thing. Most RfA's, I see the name and instantly think "yes" or "no". This time I thought "oh no". Meiko is a good candidate. He is good at editing, checks everything well, is good with most of the community, well respected and well liked, and could do a lot of good as admin. But there are issues which prevent me from supporting. There has been issues that I would ignore if the request was say, in a few months time. I'd easily overlook issues with LMBW and a few other issues, as many of our admins have had them, but I'm worried about the same things as Jeyo and small other worries, but I don't think I should oppose at the moment, as I'm thinking the community would probably benefit (at least more than - if any - negatives). ~ CJC 09:54, July 28, 2013 (UTC)

    • Rules shouldn't be changed for an active nom. If a user makes a request, they do it on the understanding of current rules, and therefore whatever rules they start with are the rules that the request should end with... NovaHawk 13:47, August 2, 2013 (UTC)
      • But I was about to close it based on rules I thought existed, before it turned out other rules I thought we stopped using two years ago are still in place - so do I follow these rules it turns out existed but we just ignored for however long, or my original view of the rules? ~ CJC 13:49, August 2, 2013 (UTC)
        • (I've seen RfRs here in that past not meet all of these rules/regulations and still succeed, so I think we should go by what we've been doing, and of course with BP:UCS.) --ToaMeiko (talk) 15:03, August 2, 2013 (UTC)
  • Verdict: Okay, I'm closing this as unsuccessful, both under the 80% rule, (the vote has 2/3 support) but also because of the content of the votes. It is generally agreed that Meiko is a great editor, and a good member of the comunity, and that one day will be a good admin. However, the points raised in the oppose are important as some would appear to have happened within the month leading up to the RfA. Factoring in that Meiko is planning to take some time off soon to do other things, I believe that now may not be the time for rights (although I believe one in a few months time could easily pass.) ~ CJC 19:32, August 2, 2013 (UTC)

I think I should be an administrator because I love wikia I find a lot of spam that should be cleaned up and I can not delete pages that I find spammed.I also believe I should be an admin because I have been on for about a year I have contributed to this wiki greatly.

One of the main resons I want to be a admin is because of this pictures on the side, and another reason is that we have over 5 admins on during the day and none at night (maybe 1 for a few minutes) and when i'm up late i'm the only one on and some vandalism does happen and no one is on to block or leave a message on their talk page, telling the person to stop or they will be blocked, the one you get if you do giant vandalism or insult a user

  1. First and foremost let me say, you are a very good user however I feel that their needs to be a bit more work to be done to become an administrator. First of all, your grammar above in your request statement drove me nuts! To quote, "i do mean salt, just think about it plz," which for one the "i" needs to be capitalized and "plz" which drove me the most bonkers really needs to be please. Also, about only half of your editcount is mainspace and I would really like that to be increased. Now, if you change your above statement and your editcount before this request closes, I will most definitely change to support. :) klagoer 13:42, April 7, 2013 (UTC)
I have some reasons to argue, but i just got up (6am-2pm sleep) and i don't want to be a jerk right now RaceLord talk, Time To Craft Some...Thing.
I believ I was completely reasonable with the above statement, if I was not, tell me. I believe though that the comments expressed below and the one you just said above, "I have some reasons to argue, but i just got up (6am-2pm sleep) and i don't want to be a jerk right now," so are you saying that admins don't need to help with content articles to much. Are you also saying we should all type like the following: like i think that isn't right? I think know I won't change my oppose to a support because now I have some questions with maturity. If you are willing to have an open discussion with me in chat, contact me on my talkpage and we can set up a time. I am always willing to hear what you have to say. klagoer 22:53, April 7, 2013 (UTC)

Why are we moving in the first place? Is it because of Ads? If so thats dumb, you can just turn them off on your computer. RaceLord talk, Time To Craft Some...Thing.
    [1] ----Jay is Gone. 21:51, April 7, 2013 (UTC)
This really irritates me. I have seen you ask several times if that was the only reason we are moving and EVERY SINGLE TIME at least one person as said, "No." You usually seem to get a link to this or this where you can see several reasons why that don't include ads. Not to mention, the ads are a big deal. Not everyone can turn them off. Yes, adblockers will, but not everyone has them and I'm not going to tell them what to do in that case. We are not being taken seriously because of the ads. We have been criticized on Brickset more than once because of them, and elsewhere I am sure. I am sorry if this comes off as too much, but I am frustrated. You are being ignorant and blind, which are not qualities I want in an admin. Berrybrick 21:50, April 7, 2013 (UTC)
Sorry dude, I just think Ads, Brickset not liking us, and some other reasons, are not giant reasons to move over 24k of pages and try to get 20-50 users to move as well. Sorry, RaceLord talk, Time To Craft Some...Thing.
Well, that's your problem, but you still shouldn't say that they are "stupid" reasons. And FYI, moving over all of those pages isn't that difficult, which was also stressed numerous times. Berrybrick 22:42, April 7, 2013 (UTC)
I don't care anymore, just take this request and delete it, but i am thinking you guys don't want me as a Admin, I have done alot of stuff for the wiki, alot of stuff on LEGO City Undercover, a bit of stuff like pictures on LEGO The Lord of the Rings: The Video Game, and alot of work on other pages too, so if you don't want me to be a admin I don't care, I think I should be one RaceLord talk, Time To Craft Some...Thing.
I won't deny that you do good work here. But your comments are convincing me more and more that you wouldn't do well with the rights. There's more to adminship than just editing: Maturity, humility and not being insufferable - none of which I've seen from you in these comments - are actually in more demand. -- Jeyo Lord VladekTalk The Forge 22:58, April 7, 2013 (UTC)
