I am nominating ToaMeiko today for administrator for several reasons:

  • Meiko has shown he understands how to use the rights, such as on Brickimedia, and other sites.
  • Meiko currently operates the chat's bot, and is dedicated to keeping it up, by using some of his own time, showing he WILL care to stay active and help whenever.
  • Meiko has matured a LOT since his last RFA, and now shows great work in anti-conflict matters.[1]

Yes, I imagine *some* users will oppose this for other reasons but think: Meiko is active, edits daily, and strives to be a great user. Hate on him all you want, but he is helping the wiki advance in many ways.

I honestly agree with some of Knight's points and there are things about this whole CM4S situation I have never understood (right from the beginning) but after considering it for however long this has been up, I've decided to support. If it turns out badly, the rights can be removed. If not, we've gained a good admin.   5. This was really a tough decision for me. I would oppose, but I know that between all of his free time, and his skills, Meiko could be a great help to this wiki. With that in mind, I would support, but I've really had a terrible past with him. There's just all kinds of horrible stuff I've seen him do, that just makes me not be able to support him. Leaning back towards oppose, I also remember that he's not a troll, and while he may have some issues similar to one, he really does desire to better this wiki.     No, I do not think you are ready to be admin. I'm sorry. This has nothing to do with CM4S' block. I think you are not able to cooperate with users who have anger issues. You were a jerk to CM4S, always. You said you tried to be better, but you didn't. If you could be friendly to him and ignore any mean things he says, he's an easy person to become friends with. Two minor admins had to give you guidelines for things to work for Orlan's sake. You could be like this to any user. And how many times have you been blocked on LMBW? A lot.     I'd also like to say these two opposers are two very close to CM4S, and one of them in particular raged a lot on chat last night, saying that nobody is allowed to talk about CM4S. And also, Knight, he was not a jerk to CM4S. CM4S swore at Meiko daily, raged at him, and personally attacked him. Meiko stood his ground, something CM4S could never do. And also - if you saay CM4S' past has nothing to do with it, why should Meiko's? Some food for thought.     Yes, I understand that I'm not active in the wiki, but it isn't I who is running. Yes, CM4S has done these things to Meiko, but I understand that Meiko also has.     Oh and - Why are you all framing Meiko with this? Meiko has done so much for the community, so much good, such as helping with Brickimedia - heck - he WAS A SYSADMIN, and he isn't willing to stop helping out. What's for the better? Him being admin, and helping the site for years to come, or him being neglected the opportunity to further his contribution and dedication to the site because of one user who already got indefinitely blocked?     Just going to through this into the fire: If I would ever have trouble holding admin rights, that trouble would have already taken place. I had higher privileges than admins when I was sysadmin at Brickimedia, and I never abused them, not once. MeikoBot, right now, on this wiki, has sysop rights. I have not abused those. What makes you think I'd lose all sense of responsibility by editing with this account on Wikia? Pretty sure I can handle the rights. Per Czech highly, I do everything in my ability to better this site, as it's the best wiki I've ever been able to contribute to. I'd rather not be neglected the opportunity to help even more.     One more thing, for all opposing votes and possible future oppositions, is that do not base it off of libelous statements like this. If you're getting an opinion from a blocked user who is likely very unhappy, chances are it's highly biased, so don't trust it, and certainly don't use it as justification for your own points. --ToaMeiko (talk) 23:35, September 2, 2013 (UTC)
    I have at last worked out my thoughts on this. While Meiko is a very beneficial editor and one who has left many a kind message on users' talk pages, lightly informing them of the rules, he also has been shown to be the opposite. Recently, there was the incident with Meiko, Bug, Knight and Nuff on chat. The latter few were told coldly, bluntly and suddenly to "stop spamming" after using hashtags before their sentences. They were not attempting to bother anyone, and Meiko's order sparked a good deal of anger. An argument ensued, an argument that left everyone angry and feeling wronged. There have also been previous instances of this, as well as the seemingly nonstop conflicts with MsD and Sci. Now, Meiko is a great editor, but one must wonder--does he really need these rights? user-relations-wise, I there's way too much controversy and a very rocky past. As an editor and chat moderator, he's fine.   2. Firstly, I want to explain to you that I can't deny Meiko's contributions to this wiki. What he has done is amazing, but he's only doing it to compensate for the grievances he's caused the community. In my opinion, these feats can't repair the damage that has ensued, no matter how hard he works to do so. Even with this ploy, he still manages to get caught up in crazy arguments and ends up hurting someone. Just today I had a small conflict with him. I don't want to go into detail because I found it ridiculous, but it ended up with several users other than myself feeling wronged only because of a single character added to a few words. Speaking from experience, I can tell you this is not the first time he's been so cold to other users such as myself. That being said, he's not only cold, but also acts tends to act inappropriate, making most of what he says hypocritical. He also has a bad habit of bringing up controversial subjects that the wiki purposely shies away from. I guess what I'm trying to get across is this-- user rights were considered a high honor and privilege, now they've been reduced to "just button pushing" as many of you have suggested. Only a year ago, we wouldn't have embarrassed ourselves by giving users who don't deserve these privileges what they want. I can agree that Meiko has improved, but barely.   • Just a note that if this nom is successful and Meiko's Wikia-wide block is not repealed, he will still be given the admin flag so that when we move back to place where the people running the site don't have bags of coins in their heads where their brains should be, Meiko will be an admin on there. I've been told by several people I should do this. I personally would have held off, but after reading the requirements and the checklist, I realized I meet everything, and do everything on the checklist already. I'm one of the most active Brickipedians anymore, and am almost always patrolling the recent changes, wiki activity and new pages. I've familiarized myself with every Brickipedia policy, including their histories, and even check them frequently when undoing an edit or warning a user to make sure I am in fact making the proper decision. To go through the checklist:

  • Have you been on Brickipedia for more than a few months, and made a few thousand contributions to articles here?
    Yes I have. Most of my edits come from minor fixes to pages, creating new pages, and reverting spam, vandalism, or other edits going against a policy, such as the MoS, category guidelines, etc.
  • Do you regularly participate on the forums?
    Yes I do. I don't post in all of them, but I check back on each board frequently for new threads and posts, and follow several to stay on track with them.
  • Do you revert vandalism when you see it, or tag pages for deletion?
    I do this one all the time. No matter who edits a page, I always check the difference between revisions to see if anything was done wrong. I also patrol new pages, lonely pages, abandoned pages and uncategorized pages looking for ones that would be potential candidates for deletion, and flag them for deletion when necessary. I also check the AfD semi-frequently.
  • Are you bothered?
    I always go out of my way to improve pages. If there isn't much activity in any of the special pages I watch for activity on the wiki, I will take the time to go through Special:Random and fix pages, and then go through the categories those pages are in to see if any other similar pages need fixing.

All in all, I feel I do a good job working on Brickipedia. It's one of my main activities as of lately, and I enjoy taking part in the community. It's been a while since Brickipedia has gotten a new admin, and as several have gone inactive recently for various causes, I believe I could do a good job in that place. The biggest point I'd like to make is, and I hope anyone who votes reads this (along with everything above) is that, and I realize, that I do have my flaws. Everyone does.   11. It took a lot of inner debating, and I put a lot of thought into my decision to support ToaMeiko's admin nomination. The way I see it is that he has contributed so much to the wiki (as well as Brickimedia's growth) and would be trustworthy with the tools to block and delete. I feel he has already gained a great amount of respect from the community and should be given a shot at administrator. If something comes up, the community can decide from there. My vote remains supportive, as Brickipedia is all about fresh starts and a welcoming community.   1. Futile as this may be, I think some more time is needed. There have been some controversial reports about Meiko's chats with Sci on Skype -- from the looks of things, Sci has been intentionally provoked at times -- and I'd also like to see how he'd deal with other people who are acting in a counterproductive manner without knowing it; people who mean well, but aren't clear on the rules.   2. I'm honestly not comfortable with this. I don't like to judge people by their behaviour at other wikis, but he has had quite a bit of trouble over at the LMBW which mirrors his interactions with Sci mentioned above... While I haven't seen this on Brickipedia yet, when that kind of borderline trolling is happening through two other mediums, I'm not comfortable with giving him the sysop bit.   5. This is probably going to be the hugest hypocritical comment I've ever made... I honestly am REALLY not comfortable with this, at all. Meiko has had a very bad history of trolling on other wikis (mainly LMBW), something I really don't think any of our admins here have had, and I certainly don't want one now. He has also been a *bit rude* in some blogs, such as Jeyo has provided. Meiko and I have had many negative incidents in the past (such as the recent provoking people to oppose on my RfCM) and that has really changed my opinion on George very strongly, which really makes me disagree with this. I'd say wait another 6 months/year until doing this.   • I thought I'd expand on my neutral (although still may not stay neutral)- here is the thing. Most RfA's, I see the name and instantly think "yes" or "no". This time I thought "oh no". Meiko is a good candidate. He is good at editing, checks everything well, is good with most of the community, well respected and well liked, and could do a lot of good as admin. But there are issues which prevent me from supporting. There has been issues that I would ignore if the request was say, in a few months time. I'd easily overlook issues with LMBW and a few other issues, as many of our admins have had them, but I'm worried about the same things as Jeyo and small other worries, but I don't think I should oppose at the moment, as I'm thinking the community would probably benefit (at least more than - if any - negatives). ~ CJC 09:54, July 28, 2013 (UTC)

  • Verdict: Okay, I'm closing this as unsuccessful, both under the 80% rule, (the vote has 2/3 support) but also because of the content of the votes. It is generally agreed that Meiko is a great editor, and a good member of the comunity, and that one day will be a good admin. However, the points raised in the oppose are important as some would appear to have happened within the month leading up to the RfA. One of the main resons I want to be a admin is because of this pictures on the side, and another reason is that we have over 5 admins on during the day and none at night (maybe 1 for a few minutes) and when i'm up late i'm the only one on and some vandalism does happen and no one is on to block or leave a message on their talk page, telling the person to stop or they will be blocked, the one you get if you do giant vandalism or insult a user

  1. First and foremost let me say, you are a very good user however I feel that their needs to be a bit more work to be done to become an administrator. First of all, your grammar above in your request statement drove me nuts! To quote, "i do mean salt, just think about it plz," which for one the "i" needs to be capitalized and "plz" which drove me the most bonkers really needs to be please. Also, about only half of your editcount is mainspace and I would really like that to be increased.     This really irritates me. I have seen you ask several times if that was the only reason we are moving and EVERY SINGLE TIME at least one person as said, "No." You usually seem to get a link to this or this where you can see several reasons why that don't include ads. Not to mention, the ads are a big deal. Not everyone can turn them off. Yes, adblockers will, but not everyone has them and I'm not going to tell them what to do in that case. We are not being taken seriously because of the ads. We have been criticized on Brickset more than once because of them, and elsewhere I am sure.
