Unlike his skeleton warriors, Lord Garmadon is not a skeleton, but just banished to the underworld. Sensei Wu is his brother the were created to protect Ninjago, but he turned evil. Greed and ambition forced him to battle his brother for the four golden weapons he wanted them for power his brother for justice. He was banished to the underworld. His death, however, made him stronger, and he became the ruler of the underworld. All throughout the Ninjago movie, he commanded the Skulkin Army who he instructed to steal the Golden Weapons, allowing him to possess their powers. But after deating Sensei Wu at the climax, his sevant, Samukai, betrayed him, but was destroyed by the power of all four weapons. It caused a vortex to open, which Garmadon apparently said was his plan all along, and went to destroy the balance of good and evil, allowing him to be strong enough to possess all four weapons. Notes
- In Ninjago: The Movie, he has the power to transform himself into a shadow to make himself harder to be defeated.[1]
- In the Spring 2011 catalogue, under the minifigures for 2505 Garmadon's Dark Fortress, Lord Garmadon was mistakenly labelled "Samukai", Samukai is labeled "Kai", Kai "Chopov", and Chopov "Garmadon".
- In the 2012 wave of Ninjago Garmadon has 4 arms.
- In sets he appears with a light gray staff with blue and purple lightning, but in many pictures he has a golden staff with green and purple lightning.
- Apparently, he was killed at the dojo seconds before he could destroy his brother, and was shocked by a bolt of lightning, causing him to fall to the Underworld.
- His samurai hat originally belonged to Samukai. It appears to be the symbol of the leader of the Underworld.
