Gimli is a The Lord of the Rings minifigure released in May 2012.

Background

Gimli is a dwarf and can carry two different battleaxes. He is the son of Gloin, another dwarf from the prequel to the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, called The Hobbit. He is also a member of the Fellowship of the Ring, which consists of Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Meriadoc Brandybuck, Peregrin Took, Gandalf the Grey, Aragorn, Legolas, Boromir, and Bill the pony, who leaves at the Mines of Moria to go to the Shire.

He has an exclusive new beard piece.
Gimli is played by John Rhys-Davies, who also plays Sallah from Indiana Jones.

Gimli has eyes like a hawk, ears like a fox. Well, sort of. He strongly distrusts Elves, but when the time comes for the Fellowship to set out for Mordor, Gimli is ready to fight beside Legolas. He may be shorter than most of his companions, but he is strong as an ox, and quick to swing and throw his axes at anyone who threatens his friends or their mission - no matter how big they may be. Whatever Gimli does, he is committed to the end.
