== Background ==
Luke Skywalker was the secret son of Queen/Senator [[Padme Amidala]] of Naboo and ex-Jedi/Sith Lord [[Darth Vader]] (previously  [[Anakin Skywalker]]) of Tatooine, and twin brother of [[Princess Leia|Leia Organa]]. After the death of his mother on Polis Massa who died after she gave birth to him and Leia, he lived and grew up on his aunt and [[Owen Lars|uncle]]'s Moisture Farm on Tatooine for the next 19 years of his life. He owned a Landspeeder, and is known to raced [[4477 T-16 Skyhopper|T-16 Skyhoppers]]. He and his uncle later purchased two droids which were [[R2-D2]], and [[C-3PO]]. After Owen and Beru were killed by the Empire's [[Stormtrooper]]s, he went with Jedi Master [[Obi-Wan Kenobi]] - who told him his father was a Jedi Knight, and gave him his father's blue lightsaber. after [[Obi-Wan Kenobi|Obi-Wan's]]'s death at the hands of Luke's father [[Darth Vader]], Luke helped destroy the [[Death Star]], with the help of [[Han Solo]], [[Chewbacca]], [[Princess Leia]], [[R2-D2]], and [[C-3PO]] in the battle of Yavin and became a known leader in the rebel alliance. He then helped in the battle of Hoth but the Empire forces outmatched the rebels and the rebels scattered across the galaxy, eager to escape the Empire's attack. He flew to Dagobah and was trained by Jedi Master Yoda. but his training was interrupted when Luke sets off to Bespin to save his friends and [[Han Solo]] was frozen in carbonite. When dueling with Darth Vader, the Sith Lord cut off Luke's right hand and his blue lightsaber fell. It was then that [[Darth Vader]] revealed to Luke that he was his father. Luke escaped and after going to other adventures, he returned to Yoda in Dagobah and became a true Jedi Knight in a black outfit and constructed a new green lightsaber.He went back to Tatooine to save his friend [[Han Solo]] from the hands of Jabba. Eventually, Luke again dueled his father on the second Death Star just above the forest moon of Endor, and though he defeated him, he refused to finish him off, knowing it would turn him to the dark side. The furious Emperor Palpatine unleashed his force lightning upon Luke, in which this time, his father was brought back to the light side, threw Palpatine into the core of the Death Star, killing him and saving Luke. However, Anakin's suit was badly damaged by the force lightning of the Dark Lord and he soon died in Luke's hands. Luke burned his father's remains in a fire in a Jedi tradition. But later saw [[Obi-Wan]], [[Yoda]], and his redeemed father [[Anakin Skywalker]] as Force Ghosts. He later helped found the New Republic and a New Jedi Order and finally bringing peace to the galaxy he died later at a unknown time along with C-3PO's destruction. Luke is responsible for the destruction of the first and second [[Death Star]] and helped defeat other villains like [[Boba Fett]], [[Jabba the Hutt]] and [[Emperor Palpatine]].

== Notes ==
* Luke Skywalker was the first licensed LEGO Star Wars Minifigure ever released.
* Luke Skywalker is also the most recurring [[LEGO]] Star Wars [[Minifigure]], with over 30 appearances in sets. He also has the most variations for a single character.
* There are two versions of Luke in his ceremonial outfit.  One has his original head, and the other has his new, white pupil head.
* In [[7201 Final Duel II]], the Jedi Luke has a black right hand, which is the only Yellow Jedi Luke variation with a black right hand.
