Summary

As the Hunter fortress advances through a forest, it knocks a bird and its nest out of a tree, though it is caught by Cragger, who is leading a scouting party. The bird reminds him of Plovar and he reminiscences about his captured friend. However, at that moment, the little bird escapes Sir Fangar’s trophy room and lands next to Cragger. Noticing the other bird, Plovar it outraged that Cragger has replaced him already. Cragger tries to explain, but Plovar storms off.

Back at the Lion City, Longtooth shows Laval the tunnel the Hunters used to sneak into the throne room. Laval attempts to go after them and rescue his father, but Longtooth convinces him to stay and take his place as king. They return to the throne room and Laval orders Lennox and Leonidas to seal the tunnels. Just then, Cragger and Plovar arrive and inform Laval about the trophy room. Back at the Ice Fortress, Stealthor informs Sir Fangar about the sealing of the tunnels, yet reassures him that they won’t need them when their fortress reaches the Lion City. Sir Fangar believes it will be a shallow victory if he does not have the phoenix child in his collection by then and orders another attack on the Lion City.

At the same time, Laval declares an attack on the Lion City, but Longtooth reminds him that he must first attend to the problems of the other tribes. The wolves want to move into the bear village, the ravens want to build a shopping plaza, the beavers want to build a dam over the Grand Archway, and the rhinos want to invite the mammoths over to play in the snow again. After he attends to their problems, Lennox and another lion bring in the paperwork.

Outside, Vornon and Voom Voom arrive with a message from Sir Fangar simply stating that the lions are under attack. Their vulture jets explode, freezing the nearby guards and creating an ice wall to trap the Lion Legend inside the throne room. The other Hunters then burst forth from the nearby tunnels and their attack on the city begins.

At the Crescent outpost, Lundor inquires to Li'ella about her trip to the Lion City. However they are interrupted by the sight of the Lion City under attack and race into the map room to inform Tormak and Fluminox about the battle. Though reluctant at first, they agree to at least fly over and take a look and board the ‘'Blazing Bastion’’.

Back at the Lion City, battle rages heavily. Laval duels Sir Fangar, though unintentionally lets Flinx out of his sight and the phoenix child is grabbed by the mammoths. The Blazing Bastion arrives and Fluminox allows them to help. Soon, they have the Hunters in defeat and fleeing back to their tunnels. Tormak jumps out and closes the tunnels while Li'ella sneaks off to help the lions. However when she arrives, Sir Fangar jumps aboard a mammoth flyer and grabs both her and Flinx. They attempt to fly away, but Laval grabs on. Li'ella encourages him to save Flinx and bites Sir Fangar’s other arm, releasing the phoenix child and Laval. As the other lions celebrate their victory, Laval watches Li'ella fly away.
