User blog:Latenightguy/The Customs-Stories Merger: My Thoughts
Hello,
Today I will be expressing my thoughts and ideas regarding the apparent merger between Customs and Stories.
Main Page/Graphics
In terms of how the wiki will be presented, there are many options. Codyn329 and I discussed this topic and we both agreed on a singular idea. The main page would be separated into two sections, one containing Customs content and another Stories. Both areas would then be divided into three other sections: A 'Featured' article, a 'Featured' user, and a MOC Wall/Cover Board (Mentioned later). Both wikis would possess a specific color scheme to differentiate the two articles, which would be turquoise/dark brown for Stories (Following its original) and a possible olive green/maroon to bring a new look to Customs. The articles written for both portions will be the same to Brickipedia articles, though the Stories would be slightly different. Instead of possessing a simple list of the title and authors of the story, a cover would be created for each and every tale. A specific format would be followed, which would require a title, the author/s, and a background, though would truly be open to the author's ideas. If an author would simply post the story and become idle to the community as a whole, usual editors could simply follow the required layout and simply possess a single-color background. These would be displayed alike a MOC Wall on the Main Page in the form of a Cover Board.
Policy & The Transfer
The major task that has more or less delayed the arrival of Customs/Stories has been the lack of a set policy upon what we as a community would do with such things and how we would transfer the Stories content over. I suggest that the stories that contain true effort, dedication, and are rather grand works should be brought from that wiki. Lists have been compiled by a few users on what stories follows these requirements, though a list compiled by the Admins would be necessary. For the policy of the newly merged wiki, customs and stories alike would be exclusive to their creator/s, allowing for editing by others to be illegal. Despite this, admins or those of high power, would be able to edit the pages for appropriation, formatting, etc.
These are my full thoughts upon the merger, along with some ideas upon how we as a community can improve the wiki.

P.S. I apologize if this turns out to be a long, rambling list of random thoughts. I have been forced to type this blog 3 times, due to restarting, so I was rather brief with this iteration.
