  • Sounds like it could be useful, I think before the news articles were doing well in the last wiki when I was searching for news (I think 4th or 5th), but if we could boost that up a bit further it could help NovaHawk 20:04, 7 October 2013 (EDT)

  • Ok, thanks :) In that case, you wouldn't happen to have the old wordmarks for Reviews would you? Also, do you remember if we ended up having one for news? Re: News idea

  • Hmm, I think it should be more about the news than the author, but that's probably just me, as long as it isn't intrusive I can't see it being a problem. We could maybe make it optional for each reporter if they want to have a thing somewhere on the page- it wouldn't be too hard to work up a template for it if that's what the community wants NovaHawk 18:36, 1 November 2013 (EDT)

News template 2.0

  • Hi Meiko, I think I've pretty much rebuilt the news template, see Template:NewsBy (and the talk page for examples). However I think you had it formatted much better, I can't remember how you positioned the avatar and everything. Also, I think for the updated field, you were using updated=REVISIONSTAMP, I can't remember how you actually did that, so I've just got it at the moment so that if the field isn't null, it outputs the "last edited REVISIONMONTH DAY, YEAR", but you can go ahead and change it if you want to NovaHawk 23:21, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

News reporter update

  • Hopefully, when you go to Brickipedia_News:Home, you should now see a box to create new reports, which will only appear for news reporters. So to make a new report, just type in the name of the article and all the stuff is preloaded into it (meaning you don't have to do all that copy-paste work anymore). Bot?

I'd love to create a bot to do two things:

  1. Add links to the first mention of set
  2. Remove the stupid template that says that part names are incorrect from all part pages

Have you considered using AWB? As for the the partnames template, the majority of the pages that template appears on have incorrect formatting of the part names. --ToaMeiko (talk) 22:40, 12 January 2014 (UTC)

MWC offline PM

BTW, have you tested that offline PM much? I'd love for it to work, but MWC only keeps the last 50 chat messages now, so 50 messages after you send the PM it will be deleted, and the person on the other end may not have seen it, sorry. UltrasonicNXT (talk)

Chat

Brickimedia chat isn't working. At the moment, LFY, Storm, and Agenet Spy are in chat. When I enter, it says that no one is there and that I am not there either. Anything I type does not appear in the chat window. I am using Firefox, which worked before, and chat is still not working. I have also tried internet explorer. Any ideas on what I can do to make it work again? Thanks,

Re: Brickfilms

To be honest, the goal of a Brickfilms Wiki was to see if the idea would be successful, and if it worked, I would propose that it be added here. :P Considering the difficulty of a fork, I'm not sure that I'd want to start it on Wikia. But if it's not going to be successful, I don't really want to start it here, either. Also, all the good brickfilm domains are taken on Wikia, and I'm not really interested in adopting any of them. :P - Drew1200 (talk)

  • Hey Meiko, I was just wondering if you knew if the awards in wikilove can be customised? If so, maybe we could replace some images which have the Wikipedia logo, having themed awards (like a Super Heroes award for people working on Super Heroes pages) instead of kittens, etc? Inventory in infobox

Feeds

  • I never knew there was a w3c validator for feeds :) It's only the top two errors (about author and updated) that seem to be really important- working on a fix right now. NovaHawk 22:25, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
    • Sorry, I meant to get you to remind me about this. Yeah, the top two errors were about no updated or author tags. And, if you re-check the error link, those errors are done from 32 to 17- I looked into the RSS extension we have the other day and apparently it assigns the author and update tag by the first occurence of a default signature followed by a timestamp, which is why I added it to {{NewsBy}}. I've just got to go around and add a NewsBy template to all the old news reports and then it should be fine (which will be in a little while).   • Turns out that the feed is just taking time to update (also the Sandcrawler had made the feed temporarily invalid, it should be fixed when it updates next). So all we need to do is put
