3401 Shoot N' Score is a Soccer/Football set released in 2000. It comes with two soccer minifigures and 22 pieces. A separate edition of this set, called 3401 Shoot n' Score with Zidane was also released, switching out the Red, White and Blue team player minifigure for an exclusive Zinedine Zidane.
Description[edit | edit source]
The set has three pain components to it, the goal, the shooting area and the goal scoring practice equipment. The shooting area is made up of a green base piece with a white stand for a minifigure, which allows for a ball to be moved around by the stand when it is rotated, and shot out when the stand is flicked back. The second area is seven-piece model for a scoring game, where the minifigure in the shooting area can attempt to shoot soccer balls through the three white open areas in the equipment. As indicated by the printed yellow bricks, the two lower areas are worth five points, while the top one is worth ten. Finally, the goal area is made up of TECHNIC pieces slotted through a transparent box, and attached to a Soccer/Football player's stand in grey, which has a green base. The goalkeeper can then be controlled by the TECHNIC rod which protrudes from the back of the box. The transparent goal also serves as a box, where the pieces can be placed into the box for storage, and a green lid can close over the open side. The lid also has a belt buckle for carrying. The set also comes with two soccer balls and two minifigures.
Two different editions of this set were released, one which included a player from the Red, White and Blue team, while the other instead included an exclusive Zinedine Zidane minifigure.
Two copies of this set can be combined with 3410 Field Expander to make a field with six players and a transparent goal at each end.
Background[edit | edit source]
Both number 18's on the Green and White and Red, White and Blue teams trained together using a goal and points-based training equipment, with the green team player commonly taking on the role of goalkeeper while the red team player acted as a striker. The green team player also used the same equipment to train with French National Team player, Zinedine Zidane.
