40028 Mini Hogwarts Express is a promotional Harry Potter set released in 2011. It was available free with the purchase of 10217 Diagon Alley from LEGO Shop.com and LEGO Stores from August 2011 to December 2011. It also came free with the preorder of LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 from GAME.

In January 2012, it was made available from shop.lego.com for £3.99.
