4560 Railway Express is a Trains set released in 1999. It contains 658 pieces.

Description

The Train

The main part of the set consists of a two-car, one-engine train. The train is blue-and-white themed, along with some touches of black, especially around the wheels. The sides of the cars can open up, revealing the interior. Car One's interior consists of rows of seats, in which minifigures may be seated. Also included is a TV set, on which a STAMP-style sticker suggests programs being played. Car Two contains two 'tracks', or lines of tiles, on which several automobiles, which are included in the set, may be placed, hereby suggesting a vehicle transport car. The engine consists largely of a single large piece, which contains the electric mechanisms required to run the train. Two sets of metal wheels are placed on this, and transfer electricity from the track to the engine, providing the power needed. Built on top of the engine is a large windshield and seating compartments, inside which a driver of the train may be placed.

The Platform

Included in the set is a platform, onto which the train may unload it's passengers and other cargo. The platform itself consists of a large brick, which has a large ramp in it, which allows cars to drive up and onto the train. On the sides of the ramp are built several seating areas and a train schedule.

The Track

The track is identical to the style of motorized train track produced in the 1999 trains sets. It consists of 8 45-degree curves, and two straight pieces. Special connections between the track elements allows power to flow through the entire track, via metal rails implanted in the plastic railroad ties.

Notes

• This set is the same set as 4561, but without a transformer and a speed regulator.
