4720 Knockturn Alley is a Harry Potter set released in 2003. It recreates the scene in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, when Harry Potter accidentally enters the shop of "Borgin and Burkes" in Knockturn Alley - a street and shop in the wizarding world known for both dark magic and sinister witches and wizards. Exclusive Lucius Malfoy and Harry Potter minifigures are included.
Description[edit | edit source]
This is LEGO's first version of the dark magic store (a second is included in the 2011 set 10217 Diagon Alley), and the dark colours of the set hint at the shop's connection to the Dark Arts. Borgin and Burkes is full of artifacts of Dark Magic, such as a minifigure brain, two printed eye pieces, two skulls, and the Hand of Glory tile. The chimney has a function that causes Harry's minifigure to fall into the shop through the Floo Network, as seen in the second Harry Potter movie. The store also has transparent black glass.
Notes[edit | edit source]
- This set contains a rare brain piece, which can only be found in this set and in 1382 Scary Laboratory.
- In the book and film, Draco Malfoy was in the shop too. However, he is not included in this set.
