6579 Ice Surfer is an Arctic set that was originally released in the year 2000. It includes a Scooter minifigure, with a green hood, as well as the Ice Surfer vehicle, which also features in the video game LEGO Racers 2, in the Arctic world, being driven by Johnny Thunder, although it is also able to be driven by the player.

- This set sported a lance piece to hold up the wind sail, these lances mostly being seen in Castle or Pirates sets.
- The vehicle in this set also appeared in the Arctic world in the video game LEGO Racers 2, it was driven by Johnny Thunder as a CPU opponent in certain races, however it was also able to be driven by the player if they wished.
- The surfer appeared in the book, Mission to the Arctic, where it was piloted by Captain Ross.
