7151 Sith Infiltrator was released in 1999 as part of the LEGO Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace line. It is the ship owned by the Sith Apprentice Darth Maul. Included are Darth Maul (with double-bladed lightsaber) and three Sith Probe Droid Minifigures.

Description

The set is mainly made up of dark grey and light grey pieces, along with some blue. The front of the ship is flat with blue tiles, reaching all the way back to the cockpit, a flat piece bent over like a shield. Above it are sloped pieces containing the storage area. The bottom of the ship is made up of black landing gear pieces, which stand the ship up. On the left and right of the ship are two folding wings on each side. The back of the ship opens up and can be used to store the Dark Eye Probe Droids and his speeder.

Background

The Sith Infiltrator, or Scimitar is a prototype stealth ship that was first used prior to the Invasion of Naboo. Darth Maul landed on Tatooine and sent Probe Droids to scout for Queen Amidala, who escaped Naboo and was assigned to find by his master along with her Jedi guards Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi. He later found them, but failed at his mission, as Qui-Gon Jinn narrowly escaped.

Notes

• An updated version of the set, 7663 Sith Infiltrator, was later made in 2007, and a third (7961 Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator) in 2011.
• This version followed an incorrect colour scheme on the ship, due to the use of blue on the exterior.
• This set was the first to have Dark Eye Sith Probe Droids as Minifigures.
• This set includes a storage hatch which holds Darth Maul's Speeder Bike.
