8809 King Mathias is a Knight's Kingdom set released in 2004. It comes with King Mathias, his sword, and his shield.

Background[edit | edit source]

In the world of Knights Kingdom II, King Mathias was the King of Morcia. He was kidnapped by Vladek so he could have the throne.

In a LEGO Catalogue he was considered rare.
The packaging for his set included a box with the castle-like canister containing all pieces and a full size map of Morcia larger than ones in other instruction booklets.
King Mathias is the only figure to include a fabric cape in his set.
King Mathias' sword is exactly the same color and shape as Jayko's sword.
