Ace the Bat-Hound is a canine sidekick of Batman. A classic version of Ace is playable in LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham[1] while an additional variant based on the Batman Beyond version of the character is playable with DLC inspired by the show.
Description[edit | edit source]
Ace is mainly a tall light grey dog. Ace wears a bright yellow collar with a black bat symbol around his neck. Around Ace's head he wears a black cowl but it does not cover his white eyes or his nougat ears and snout. His snout also has a triangular black nose and a black mouth. Around the stud on Ace's back he wears a black "bat" cape.
Ace's Batman Beyond variation portrays him as a black dog, with a purple collar and white eyes.
Background[edit | edit source]
Bruce Wayne gave Ace to his son, Damian Wayne as a birthday present. Damian thought Ace fighting skills and Ace later joined the legion of super pets.
Batman Beyond[edit | edit source]
Ace was trained by his original owner to fight other dogs for entertainment, though he often resisted his master's cruel treatment. When the police put a stop to the fights, Ace fled from both them and his master. He encountered Bruce Wayne, who was visiting his parents' grave, when they were both ambushed by Jokerz. With Ace's help, Bruce was able to protect himself and adopted the dog. In his advanced age, he used Ace as a guard dog and Ace also sometimes assisted Batman II in the field.
