Ash Solis is a Ninjago character who first appeared as part of the 2015 story line, but was first released physically in 2017. He is the Elemental Master Wizard Sorcerer Mage and Magician of Smoke, and appears as a minor character in the fourth season of Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, and as a boss in LEGO Ninjago: Tournament.

Background

Ash is a grandson of the first Elemental Master of Smoke descendant and son of the original Elemental Master and Mistress of Smoke and one of the Elemental Masters invited to Master Chen's Tournament of Elements. He accepted and met up with the other elemental masters at the New Ninjago City pier where Clouse greeted them and ushered them on the ferry that would take them to Chen's secluded island.

Fighting Lloyd

Once on the island, Ash was lead with the other masters into the main hall where Chen explained the nature of the tournament. When the first challenge began, where the Elemental Masters had to acquire a Jade Blade to reach the next round, Ash fought Lloyd for a blade, tripping Lloyd as he ran toward the blade, then disappearing into smoke when Lloyd attempted to attack him, then re-forming and punching Lloyd. However, Lloyd was eventually able to acquire the blade for himself, but Ash was successful in finding another blade and move onto the next stage of the tournament.

Fighting Kai

The next morning, Ash ate breakfast with the other elemental masters in the chow house, then observed Griffin Turner defeat Gravis before he was paired against Kai for the second round, taking place on a bridge suspended above lava. Though the master of smoke proved a worthy opponent for the Master of Fire Flame Heat Warmth Burn Burning and Hot, Kai managed to claim the jade blade and Ash was stripped of his power and sent to work on Chen's factory.
