I wonder how the Disney Princess team felt about this set being green lit. :P I'd really be curious to see what a mini-doll DTC would look like.

The set looks really pretty from the outside. I would've pefered white to tan, but oh well. While I appreciate the effort for the inside, I think there's a lot of missed opportunities. I don't see why the bottom floor could've been chock full of references. The references that they did choose to feature were really limited too, why on earth only feature princess movies and Fantasia? Not many people like Brave (I personally love it, but I'm in the minority :P), Tiana doesn't have a mini doll and only Ariel has a minifigure. I do adore the prints, that story book. <3 It is weird to see that this set has hundreds of pieces less then the Ghostbusters HQ though, would they not have expanded the interior or even include some side builds?

As for the minifigures, they're all great. I don't think the heads match the Disney Parks heads, but a new mould would be pointless. I really love this version of Minnie. I like Daisy and Mickey's versions too, equally as much as their CMF counterparts. Donald feels a bit mean seeing as some people paid $4 for the exact same figure they're going to get here with no accessories... Tink looks superb I'd much rather her then about half the CMF series. It's a shame these four couldn't be in the second series or be swapped for Syndrome, Genie, Mr. Incredible...

The lack of characters seems kind of stingy just because that Ghostbusters HQ had 14 and this only has 5. There's a lot of characters who don't need moulds, the princesses, most of the princes including Beast, Gaston, Hans, Lilo, Kida (if we go really obscure) could easily use the Rockstar's hairpiece, Tarzan, practically every Incredibles character and I'm only scraping the bottom of the barrel. Bolt, Bambi, Thumper, Lady, Oliver, any of the Aristocats could've been just seen as new prints on existing moulds.

On a side note does Disney really have to go Simpsons route, with a DTC and CMF surly its popular enough for a whole wave of sets. I'd be a lot happier paying $20 for a set with a nice building Minnie, Mickey and Pluto rather than buying a bunch of overpriced blind bags and using the touch method to find the characters. Also it would probably mean we would get more characters if there was one set per franchise. :P

This might be my favorite set of the year, though I don't know how much competition it has...I'm not a Ghostbusters fan, Hoth was a bad idea, and the Batcave is kind of eh. Brick Bank is cool though and Big Ben looks like Big Ben the clock tower. \_O_/

There references are fun and all of the new minifigures are good (I like this version of Mickey a lot more than the one in the series). I would have liked it to include more figures of course--like Goofy and maybe some princesses who they already have the hairpieces for (like Cinderella, Belle, Jasmine, and Ariel in a dress?) who could be released in a CMF series later on, of course, :P --but I'm not so bothered because the set is so good. That said though, that price. :P

I think I like it better now. In the leaked images the colours were oversaturated and I wasn't a fan of the grey/tan colour scheme. Last time I saw the real castle it was overcast and that tan colour looked grey so I'm still trying to get used it it being two colours. Good to get some clear pics of Tinker Bell- is that a new hairpiece?

I know people are complaining about the lack of minifigures, but this is just one of those sets where it's much much more about the model than the figures just like the Super Star Destroyer, Helicarrier or the Black Tower, I don't see what the big deal is.
