Yes it's Brickipedia's 10 year anniversary and we've wrote about what has made this site so special over the years! More stuff will come in the next few hours!

Customs

Desert inn, a MOC created to celebrate the 10 year anniversary! 2006 was also the year of desertification!

Customs was introduced circa 2011 where it was part of the Brickipedia site, running in a separate namespace like reviews. It has its very own wiki now, as you have no doubt noticed (no doubts at all!). Just recently, we have merged the Customs wiki with Stories, and have also opened it up to include fan art and quizzes. It is also purple! Purple! The color of blueberries! Actually, it is more like a lavender, but I like talking about berries.

Over the years, Customs has featured a variety of themes, sets, and figures based on original ideas, classic and new LEGO themes, or media such as television, movies, books, and real people. (Parents, I salute you: Real people is a good medium.)

Reviews! Reviews! This set is grand! This set is bland! For this brick I have scanned lend me a hand building with LEGO brand! This is not what I planned! But o this set is grand! This set is bland! I don't think I can stand seeing another seeing another man so bland set be deconstructed into a pile of bricks.

Te he. Reviews! Reviews! Reviews debuted with Brickipedia Customs almost five years ago. It remains in its own namespace and has had a fair amount of activity since. Thanks to the LEGO Group, we have recently started to review sets they have kindly sent us. We could not do it with viewers like you. Thank you.

Sigfigs

SigFigs or Sigfigs became a staple to Brickipedia in late 2012. Many people made blogs showing off their versions of the different users. Most notably, Nexus made over a hundred sigfigs! To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the site, I decided to this little section with my version of all users who were active on December 24th.

All Hail Mr. Blobby

{{#ev:youtube|h37KQu64RY4}} It might seem strange that a community dedicated to blocks of all things would find an interest in the delectable curvaceous plump that is Mr Blobby, but we did.

Blobby, o Mr. Blobby, was the centerpiece of minifigures, sets, and conversations in the earlier days of Brickipedia Chat and Customs. He even had his own chat emoticon, and a few especial zealots turned this into a cult. New users who did not understand refused to pay reverence to Blobby and demanded that his image be removed from chat, and some pressed that even the mention of his name be forbidden.

This event is recognized as singularly destroying our culture, but paying respect to our past, we now reveal the image of Mr. Blobby for the express purpose of reminding people who found it annoying that they are human. As LEGO fans, it is important to realize that we cannot all be gelatinous pink celebrities, and that that is okay.

Custom themes

Custom themes are basically themes featuring sig figs! Generally multiple users will create the theme together and the theme won't have much of a traditional feel e.g. Colour scheme, similar building structure ect. There are some custom themes that are only made by one person and has more of a professionsal feel. Which style do you prefer? Here at Brickipedia we have all types of everything. :P The current custom theme going on at the moment is League of Brickipedians, your welcome to take part if you wish! Or even start your own theme! A new custom theme MOC was made to celebrate the anniversary Forest Animal Sanctuary.

Featured articles

In many ways featured articles are the face of the site. We originally did them weekly, but they weren't always quality, so we settled for monthly. FAs have ranged from sets to themes to minifigures to a BIONICLE figure (Tahu) to even a mini-doll figure (Olivia)!
