As you can probably tell, it's been a slow few weeks for news, here's a few of the highlights below.

Double VIP points

LEGO is currently offering double points for VIP members until March 29. This is the equivalent of a 10% discount.

Books

Details have been found on four upcoming books, due for release in September/October. These are:

LEGO The Hobbit will remain incomplete

Although it was originally believed that a DLC pack would be on its way for the third Hobbit movie, The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies, Warner Bros has confirmed that they will not be releasing any downloadable content to complete the game, and that there are no plans to release a new game based on the third film.

$100,000 worth of LEGO used to create Jurassic Park stop-motion

A father, daughter, and their friends have combined over $100,000 worth of LEGO to create a Jurassic Park stop-motion video, you can check it out below: <videoflash>5KNMYi5MDhE</videoflash>

Is there some rule about releasing at least 1 SW book a year?

If it makes you feel any better, there's two more SW books coming out soon (one in April, one in May) :P

I'm so glad I didn't buy that Hobbit game now- having an incomplete game like that would have driven me crazy :P I still don't get why they didn't wait to release all three movies in the one game- it's like they got two thirds of the way through and were just like "eh, that'll do". Seems very half-hearted.

The game being incomplete makes me cringe just thinking of the lack of consistency. Tough for anyone who has the game. I do agree that the marketing plan was not exactly the smartest and the game definitely jumped the gun.

Because money. That is why. And when the sale figures were no doubt lower due to it, they decided there wasn't enough demand for DLC.
