Chell is a Dimensions minifigure released in 2015. She appears in 71203 Portal 2 Level Pack.
Background[edit | edit source]
Chell is the main protagonist of the Portal series of games. Like all the other main characters in Valve's singleplayer games, Chell is completely silent so that the player can project themselves onto her in order to feel more immersed in the game world. Because of this, Chell has little backstory of her own - only the minimum required to fit into the game's plot.
She is introduced to the player as a test subject, employed by Aperture Science, with the purpose of solving increasingly complex puzzles with the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device, commonly known as the "portal gun". After waking up from an unknown period in stasis, Chell is coldly greeted by GLaDOS, the malevolent artificial intelligence in control of Aperture. During the two games, GLaDOS guides Chell through a series of test chambers in an attempt to satisfy her own urge to test and forward the cause of science.
Notes[edit | edit source]
- Alésia Glidewell, the actress who plays the live-action Chell in the LEGO Dimensions Portal trailer, is the same actress who provided Chell's body, face, and motion capture for the two main Portal games.
