[List of appearances] |
Nathan Evo, nicknamed The Steamroller, is a Hero Factory character introduced in 2011. He specializes in communications, and heavy artilleries, he is a member of Alpha team.
Description[edit | edit source]
Evo's primary colour is, and always has been, yellow. However, his secondary colours and their prominence have been depicted irregularly. It was purple with gunmetal accents at his introduction, but in his second appearance gunmetal became his secondary colour and purple was dropped all together, his eyes appearing orange instead. During Brain Attack, the gunmetal stayed and became just as, if not more, prominent than the yellow while the red disappeared and was replaced with light blue, which was also used as an accent colour. As a minifigure, Evo's eye colour reverted to red again and his limbs are yellow while his bulky torso armour is gunmetal.
Evo has used a variety of weapons, including shields, spears, blasters, and buzz saws.
Background[edit | edit source]
Nathan Evo and Julius Nex were the first two heroes to be upgraded, which made their new forms ideal to face Fire Lord and his lackeys. Similarly, Preston Stormer, William Furno, Natalie Breez, and Mark Surge were upgraded to 2.0 forms. Evo's seemingly pacifist antics confused the fire villains, but it was just a ploy to surprise them with a violent attack. After the villains were defeated, Evo and his comrades returned to Makuhero City where his below standard prowess during the mission landed him a spot as a rookie on the Alpha Team.
During Mission: Catch 'Em and Cuff 'Em Evo was dispatched to the planet of Z'chaya to recapture Toxic Reapa and was outfitted with special gear to withstand his poisons. During their fight, Reapa appeared to be the victor, but Evo once again made use of unexpected tactics to come out on top.
When Evo returned to the Hero Factory, he joined with Stormer, Furno, Surge, and Daniel Rocka to capture Black Phantom, who had remained behind to use the Assembly Tower to upgrade himself. Rocka fought with Phantom while Evo and the others battled his Arachnix henchmen. Black Phantom was exhausted by a power overload and easily detained.
During the Brain Attack, Evo was outfitted with equipment specifically to stop the mutated members of the Aquagon species in the canals. With vital intel provided by teammate Dunkan Bulk, Evo was able to remove the Brains and revert the Aquagon back to their harmless selves. When the heroes learned that Surge had been taken over by a brain, Evo fought against Surge's drones until Breez freed Surge from the Brains' control.
Evo was later called to Antropolis City to investigate the disappearance of three miners. When he learned that colossal monsters from below had been disturbed and were rising to the surface, he contacted Hero Factory who dispatched Furno, Stormer, Rocka, Breez, Surge, and Bulk along with battle machines to fight the invaders. While fighting the monsters on the surface, Evo in the largest mech, tried to fight with the Splitter Beast and rescue Furno (whose machine had been destroyed). However, Evo was forced to abandon his mech. Still, he and Furno appeared to have the means to defeat the beast by tying up its feet, but the beast escaped by splitting in two and fleeing to the surface with Furno captured.
After losing the battle in the city, the remaining heroes were sent walkers outfitted for traveling the caverns which the beasts came from, to rescue the miners and their teammates. After being separated and facing the cavern's monsters and beasts, Evo's walker was the only one remaining by the time they reached the beasts' Queen. Breez seemed capable of dealing with the beasts peacefully, but a Jumper accidentally set off a discarded gun and the heroes scrambled to rescue the hostages and return to the surface. Back in the city, the heroes sealed the tunnel and the citizens of Antropolis City agreed to build their transportation system above ground.
