Jean-Paul Valley is a DC Comics character.
Background
Jean-Paul Valley was inducted into the Order of St. Dumas by blood since his father was a member. The Order was a cult bent on cleansing the world of sinners. Jean-Paul inherited the mantle of Azrael. Azrael carried the flaming Sword of Sins and became an ally of Batman, who was trying to extricate Jean-Paul from the brain washing of the Order known as the System. Due to the teachings of the System, Jean-Paul is practically a master combatant, but it also gave him a mental weakness.
