Jim Corrigan is a DC comics character.
Background
When Detective Jim Corrigan was chained up and thrown into a river by some thugs, he was surprised to see he didn't die. Endowed with spectral powers, Corrigan was turned into the ghostly character that is the Spectre, bringing Vengeance upon the Sinful.
