Thanos is an Eternal that was born with the Deviant Syndrome, causing him to have hide-like skin and a massive body. Due to this, he was morose and obsessed with the concept of death as a child. As an adult, he is one of the more prominent supervillains in existence, having bested most heroes at least once.
Background
Born with the Deviant gene, Thanos hated life and began to worship the entity Death. Through bionic implementation and meditation, Thanos augmented his Eternal strengths and powers so that his abilities surpassed those of all other Titanian Eternals. As he grew in power, he desired conquest. Stealing one of his people's starships, he gathered a small army and dropped nuclear devices on his home world Titan. He then set his sights on Earth.
