Venom is the alias used by May Parker (of Earth-9997) after gaining the alien symbiote previously worn by that world's Eddie Brock.
Background
Not much is known about Earth-9997's May Parker before she bonded with the symbiote. The symbiote intended to get revenge on May's father, Peter Parker, for rejecting it many years ago by bonding to his daughter and turning her against him. The creature's plan failed due to May's fine-tuned spider sense being able to subdue and subjugate it.
At some point, Earth-9997 started to be erased. Kang the Conqueror saved her from the universe's demise and offered the chance to save it if she aided him in battle as a part of his Chronos Corps, a group of time-displaced individuals that were rescued from their dying universes.
