Firox is a Rock Monster from the Power Miners theme. Firox has only appeared in one set, but played a major role in the first year of the Power Miners storyline. He is sneaky and curious by nature, and fastest of all the rock monsters. His name is a play on the word "Fire" and "Rocks".

In the second year of the Power Miners theme, the Rock Monsters were replaced with Lava Monsters. Firox specifically, was replaced by Firax. A line from LEGO.com suggests that the Firax are Firox heated up, and not an entirely new species.

Description

Firox is made up of two pieces, a head and a body. The head is stone grey, and is textured like an uneven rock. The body is made up of three smaller pieces, but comes assembled in the box. Two of the pieces are arms, which are coloured and textured just like the head. Like all minifigures, the arms are able to hold objects. However, their wrists do not turn like the normal minifigure, and their hands are also much larger. The third piece is the main part of the body. It is mostly made up of transparent orange plastic, but it also has chunks of stone grey in it, which makes it look like a mixture of large pieces of orange crystal and rocks. The entire body piece has the same rocky texture as the head. The head is attached on a hinge, allowed the entire piece to flip upwards. When open, the inside of the body is hollow, allowing you to put a crystal inside of it, and close the mouth.

Background

Firox are fast, sneaky, and love to play tricks. He has a rivalry with Rex, because he ruins all the machines he creates. His special ability, which can be obtained by eating power crystals, is zooming around very quickly, appearing to just be a blur.
