Comment: We've been at this far too long. Archived, and renamed the page.

Since LEGO Ideas will be launching soon, succeeding LEGO CUUSOO, will we be regarding LEGO Ideas as a different theme from LEGO CUUSOO? Any set that will be released after the launch will surely be branded as a LEGO Ideas set, so maybe we should do the same? We'll probably have to put something in the CUUSOO theme page's infobox saying "succeeded by LEGO Ideas" or something. --ToaMeiko (talk) 04:47, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

  • I was planning on just moving CUUSOO to Ideas, I just consider them to be the same thing but with a different name. I don't think we'd need a separate theme for LEGO Ideas 2.0 when it comes out, and CUUSOO is essentially LEGO Ideas 0.0 :P But I don't really have a strong opinion on how it should be handled NovaHawk 05:03, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
  • Per Nova, but I assume that with the name change, CUUSOO the company is not going to be involved, so separate pages would make sense. Berrybrick (talk) 18:39, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
    • Depends on the reason for rename: its either
      1. Out of Beta, full release, new name for marketing, one that is easy to spell, more descriptive, etc..
      2. Contract with CUUSOO is over.
  • I'd assume its the first. CJC95 (talk) 22:04, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
      • What was CUUSOO contracted for in the first place, exactly? That might make it easier to tell, though I suppose it won't be too hard to find out if they are still involved once the Ideas site is launched. Berrybrick (talk) 22:26, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
        • By the looks of here, they do it but with furniture. CJC95 (talk) 22:56, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
          • It's out of beta. It wasn't a contract at all; it was a partnership that hasn't been abandoned, but the site is being renamed since its out of beta. --ToaMeiko (talk) 00:52, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
  • In that case (@Meiko), support just renaming the page. (as a separate question, should the old CUUSOO sets say "X is a CUUSOO set released whenever", or "X is a LEGO Ideas set released whenever"?) -Cligra
    • Since they were released under the LEGO CUUSOO name, we should keep it saying CUUSOO. That's also why I suggest two different pages. It's essentially the CUUSOO theme being discontinued and being succeeded by Ideas. --ToaMeiko (talk) 22:03, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
  • Still support a rename, as it's the same system but just a new name and skin. I think either way, we should do something, we're falling behind. About CUUSOO the company, we should have a separate page about the company anyway. NovaHawk 06:46, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
  • Agreed that there should be an article about CUUSOO the company. Berrybrick (talk) 18:49, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
  • Per Meiko; it's a bit more than the average rebranding from my standpoint. Berrybrick (talk) 18:49, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
  • Can we please do something about this already? Having it under CUUSOO is ridiculous. Here's some more evidence for a simple move (see the latest blog):
    • The title: "Announcing the Next LEGO Ideas Set..." - this being the first "Ideas" set, next wouldn't make sense. They're obviously treating it as the same thing, just with a different name
    • The number of the new set: "LEGO Ideas #008: Research Institute" - Obvious continuity between the last one released under CUUSOO (#007). We don't have a separate page for the Japanese CUUSOO which produced #001 and #002, and opening the audience to the whole world and requiring 10,000 votes instead of 1,000 is a much bigger change than renaming the site and allowing 13+ users to make projects instead of 18+.
Not to mention the more practical reason of keeping it together- if people come to the Ideas page, they want to see all the sets listed from CUUSOO as well, not click yet another link and bounce back and forth between tabs to see a complete list. NovaHawk 23:38, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
  • Its a rename. So lets rename it. CJC95 (talk) 23:59, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
