Groot is a Marvel Super Heroes minifigure that appears in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes and first appeared physically in 76020 Knowhere Escape Mission.
Background[edit | edit source]
Groot is a bounty hunter and the accomplice of Rocket Raccoon. On Xandar, they entered a fight between Gamora and Peter Quill, due to the bounty on Quill. They were promptly arrested by the Nova Corps, met Drax, and escaped the prison. They met with The Collector about the orb, and fought with Ronan and Nebula, but the still escaped with the orb.
Groot fought to rescue Quill and Gamora, based on a misunderstanding. And on Xandar, when Ronan's ship crashed to the ground, Groot sacrificed himself to protect the others. When the battle was over, Rocket planted a splinter of Groot in a pot, allowing him to regrow.
